Play to your strengths Yeah, its always amusing when its punished. With the naked eye, a huge percentage of goals are scored in this way, Fulham's winner v Rotherham last night another. Same with the modern trend of leaving players on the edge of the box to have a free pot shot, again absolutely loads of those goals scored every week. Last night Wolves only had 10 men and Brentford still decided not to mark the player on the edge, who then scored easily. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 Definite case of woe is me on the Pompey site tonight. To be honest I never really fancied them this season, they seemed to have all the luck with regular late goals. I’m not saying that’s not a sign of endurance but they never really looked impressive so I’m not really surprised they’ve fallen back and I still think they were crap against us and we threw 3 points away after that Dion miss. Rams and Posh our main challengers and if we finish in front of those two we’re up. Quote
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 6, 2024 Site Supporter Posted January 6, 2024 Watching this Boro/Villa game- it's not great by any means. Boro knock it around well enough, but it's a tad slow, especially in the final third. Jones on the right had a number of opportunities to have a go at his full back or get a cross in but delays it. Villa simply tedious. Doesn't seem like either team is really that arsed. Quote

Almost like the cup is alive again. Maybe away ties is the way to go I think the combination of reduced ticket prices and bigger away ends is a great pull for away fans. Its a bit frustrating that the one time we get an away draw in the FA Cup, we go to one of the smallest grounds in the entire 3rd round. I'm sure we could have taken 4 or 5k to anywhere within 100 miles if the allocation was big enough. Hopefully round 4! Quote

Only hope with Fleetwood is new manager bounce, Charlie Adam's first game. And Cheltenham not too bad these days, only lost 1 of last 7 home games (but they haven't played Pompey yet). right after posting i stuck £10 on Derby, Pompey, Exeter @ 5.51 oh well Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 Portsmouth only won one or their last 5 games. Quote

And 3 of the games they didn't win were against this morning's bottom 4. I didn't see that coming, even though we should have taken the lead, they looked like the real deal against us and deservedly won. Will be interesting to see how they go on next few games, no games against leading sides till March. Quote
