Going to Burnley throughout the 80s was always a highlight, felt like really big games at the time with a raucous atmosphere, and great view from that away end down the side. Always a good laugh trying to get back to the car and out of town in one piece. Quote

Utd twice, and arsenal twice. You'd have to spread it around a bit. Quote

Asked a copper, and it had been kept away slightly for fear of damage! Second game, I got my brother to come, and we went by car. Bloke taking empty milk bottles from a crate outside a corner shop, and wazzing them down the street. Couldn't determine which colour he followed, so our kid approached slowly, then sped away as we got level with the loon. Didn't want a windscreen putting through. Quote

After 6 years of title wins or chases, a top 5 chase is hardly going to be stuff they're excited about. Add that it was midweek game and look at our midweek attendances. Quote

Plus they are missing 50-60 of dominance in the eyes of the world creating hordes of daytripers from all over the gaff ready to pay whatever it takes for a seat. Mad how they get stick for having empty seats from the same DMBs or Red shites that bemoan their clubs flock of tourists paying £100+ a seat. Quote

That FA Cup game, I just remember being "stuck" in one of the many side streets in the car, unable to get anywhere faster than 2 mph, as fights were going on in the middle of the road in the dark of winter. As you say just wanting to get out without damage to the car or worse. It took what seemed an age to escape, probably only about 2 minutes! I wouldn't have had it any other way at the time, it was all part of the away day buzz, but if that was now I wouldn't be going near the place. But my youthful enthusiasm for our Div 4 team meant I went back a week later for the league game for more of the same. Quote

Law of averages says a few thousand can't make midweek games (or choose not to - what a hassle it must be getting into Manc midweek). Very few grounds look full for league games midweek, exceptions are probably Liverpool, Everton, Leeds off top of my head, where ST holders can easily give their tickets to others and probably share STs as they are well over subscribed. I bet City aren't over subscribed, if a ST holder doesn't turn up, the seat stays empty if its not a huge game (ie Man U or Liverpool) - same as for us. Quote
L/H White Posted April 23 Posted April 23 further clarification of how shite the europa league is, united could finish as low as 17th and end up in the champions league if they win it madness Quote

Nearer 40k ST holders, remaining capacity for the away allocation and about 8-10k walk ups. Not going to get many of those for a midweek TV game days before cup semi final. They have an official resale scheme for ST holders to try and get rid if they can't go. Know all this as stepdaughter is a ST holder there, struggles with some midweeks due to work, found last night's a hard sell. Same chat being had about Arsenal's game tonight, plenty of availability around their stadium Quote

Not to get into too much City chat, but do you know if they "sell out" of STs, like Liverpool/Leeds for eg, or are there more available if a "new" fan wanted to buy one? Quote

So their new ticketing partner (Viagogo) are basically trying to sell tickets to tourists/away fans as they can get inflated prices, rather than have actual City fans buying STs at relatively low prices. I didn't know about that, I knew they protested v Leicester but thought it was just about prices in general rather than effectively stopping more local/real fans from coming. Quote

Yeah pretty much. 19 individuals visiting during the season and spending a fistful in the club shop, catering etc (and paying over the odds for the ticket in the first place) is worth way more than a single season ticket holder turning up at 2.55 every week Quote

I don't want to feel that getting extra tickets for routine home games is too difficult/expensive, and I certainly don't want to be supporting a club that is blatantly involved in pricing out loyal fans. Even more sickening that its a club who are swimming in more money than they know what to do with, their tickets should be about £30 and aimed at locals/long standing City fans. Quote

Spurs are one of the shittest teams in the league and are still in it. They're playing a team that looks like it was named by someone headbutting a keyboard. Quote
