I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

I know they have great support but Sunderland have to be one of the most boring clubs around for me

I'm pleased they won though as I remember plenty of "blades" being proper retards the year we went up with them under Parky

Exactly why I was pleased with the result. I assumed that you meant retards and not 'restores'?

I'm gonna sound a bit gay here but I think Arsenal Women winning the CL is a pretty big deal tbf.

Plenty of pacy players at our level. We just haven't been buying them.

Not just about sprinting ability.

Timing, awareness and commitment to the opportunity.

I'm not sure there are really.  Week after week I think if the opposition had pace they'd rip us apart, but all the games are so slow.  Even Brum, Wrexham and the play off teams didn't frighten us for pace, its more about being better organised and stronger than us.

Desmond is as good as it gets for pace.  Fossey and Bradley would possibly be the fastest in L1 if  playing now, happy to be corrected if I've forgotten someone.

Jalo at Barnsley, Hepburn Murphy and another striker I forget the name of at Crawley, seem to remember Charlton having some pacy players.

You're right though, not that many out and out speed merchants. I must just be seeing other teams getting it forward faster and committing runners. Even if we do this I still think we're slower than the average in league 1. Only Tutu has any pace and he plays well once every 6 games.

I still think you can get that in league 1. Essentially players willing to play it forwards quickly and run in behind to make it a fast paced game even if they're not out and out sprinters.

We have a combo of slow sprinters who take an age to think about committing forward.

SS has alluded to it by saying we need some different types, youth and wingers

He has, and it's fair enough.

On occasions though, we have played quickly, and scored decent goals.

Our game got largely found out though, and I think a number of players became stale, movement dropped etc.

Some new players, new approach, and an ethos to move it quicker, and I'm certain some players already here will show a different level that when they finished the season.

Now watching two teams who overhauled us as we floundered.  They’re playing at Wembley in a game we should be involved in. Gutted.

Shocking start. How have we been poorer than these two

Somehow, we managed to be.

TBF both these teams are solid, organised and work hard to keep their shape, neither has midfielders who bottle out of challenges and boring as they may be, they keep it simple going forward.

Wining only 2 out of the last 10 games and having a squad that folded when it got a bit tough

Apparently you're not supposed to mention this. It's negative to our new management team.

Old school forwards and wingers who work for set pieces if they can’t get a shot off and no prima donnas also helps.

Come on Forest you can do it

Orient at least having a proper go here.  This time last year we were still playing it sideways at the edge of our box.

Randell is on. Reckon he will either assist or score. Absolutely no logic behind that btw.

Nightmare start for Randell. Caught in possession then falls over. 😀

Orient now looking like us last year. As soon as they're pressed, they're going backwards. Set piece their only hope.

Well a positive would be the squad will be well rested for the start of the new season they were on the beach from April

Glad that Charlton are out of the way. Orient have been a great team but built on a good few loanees.

At least Orient managed a shot on target ...
