I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Do Luton still get parachute payments from the PL?

Budget should be decent if so.

Yep. Another 2 years. They'll be a big threat next season just for that alone

They’ve a new stadium that should swallow that and more up.

Good point. And I've just looked it up. Only parachute payments for them this next season. The third year is only if you were in the prem 2 seasons or more.

So a big drop in income for them next year as well as funding a stadium. Discount them as a threat....

Think most of that money will be tied up in the stadium improvements they had to make when they got in the PL

We are bigger than all of them.

Cardiff are in all kinds of bother and skint. Luton in free fall.

Plymouth the ones to watch, I'd have them favourites as it stands.

I know they've been relegated twice, but in last few months its us in free fall.  Only Burnley and Leeds got more points than Luton in last 10 games, only 3 teams were worse than us in last 10 games, and Luton were playing much better teams than we were.

What happened last season is irrelevant for both clubs, we all start from scratch in August, but they've got a good manager and I'd expect them to finish in top 2 barring anyone else spending silly money.

Presume the funding of a stadium is spread over a good number of years.  Nobody's going to "trade" a new stadium for relegation after relegation, there will be ring fenced playing budgets surely.

Wimbledon looks like the weekender this year then

I make wimbledon and orient 2 of the worst london aways

But a london away is a london away and beggars cant be choosers

My Wigan associate reckons Luton will go down again....

Given that Walsall has been an utter graveyard for BWFC over many, many years we're probably better off with it being Wimbledon. I can only ever remember us beating Walsall away the once - in the League Cup when Anelka scored his first for us. Never remember us winning in the league there even though our home record v them is good.

Seems a car has been driven into the celebratory crowd in Liverpool.

For accounting purposes, the cost of the stadium will probably be spread over a period of c.25 years. However, the architects, suppliers, builders, etc. will need paying straight away!

I would presume any finance arrangements would link to where Luton are in the football pyramid. In the Premier League, lenders will be relaxed, in the Championship monitoring, in League One wary!

With some high salaries on the books (and possible transfer fee liabilities) I’d imagine Luton will need to cut their cloth, accordingly.

Season is 46 games though. Not the last 10.

Maybe some were playing to put themselves into the shop window, if they know the club is skint.

Agree on Orient. Wimbledon was good last time though.
