I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Must be the first gay manager in international football?

Eidur tells his son about showering at home like we did at Tranmere and how it delivered a 100% winning record😂

Also don’t be forgetting John O’Shea managed Ireland.

When he played for us (great player), he wasn't on my list of future manager material.

The Scotland keeper got injured after a few minutes, the 2nd choice was injured in the warm up, the 3rd choice had an absolute mare.  I've seen the 3rd goal a few times and I still can't work out how he failed to stop it.

He's got a 4 contract with Ipswich.

Like a FIFA glitch or summat. I read somewhere he’s only played 4 first team games, I think 2 were for Rochdale… but came through at City so must be elite etc

Apparently 7th choice at best & played 10 minutes of first team football last season. He was there due to sickness, illness, injury & a couple of cases of 'can't be arsed'.

Even a flatdick wou...

No, scratch that.

I've not done a great deal of reading into it but I believe the issue isn't the blind trust itself - other clubs have got round the rules that way - but that they missed the March deadline to put their shares into a blind trust

Which, given they wouldn't have known in March that they'd later qualify for Europe, seems a bit harsh

But then again I think multi-club ownership is generally a bad thing

Indeed they did miss the deadline.

Which raises the question of why have one, if they're all fine and dandy?

Moreover, why don't these owners of more than one club, automatically put their assets into one?

In the case of politics, there were concerns about their use, which may be something that EUFA also share.

I don't know, and am surmising, but they have their rules, and if the owner isn't prepares to take a chance and ensure they're followed, then I'm not sure they can be upset by it.

Fans will be clearly, and that's a shame, but the fault lies with the owners.

Three games for Rochdale. All in EFL Cup & Trophy. Not a single league game in his career.

It's completely passed me by that the Nations League final is tonight

On ITV, should be a good watch, although Portugal can spoil any game

Guardiola has been a fantastic and innovative coach.

However, Grealish and Kalvin Phillips were excellent players before joining City but have regressed by playing to his orders.

Haaland is in danger of following the same path.

Discuss.

It was my main defence of Grealish all along. He was doing as he's told.

He played his role in that treble winning season to perfection.

Ball retention Ball retention Ball retention.

He sacrificed everything that's he's got for his manager and team.

Seems Pep had that out of him then just tossed him aside. 2 seasons blighted by injuries didn't help.

He's an amazing manager Pep. Some of the football they play is just unbelievable, but it certainly stunts some players creativity.

Oh, forgot about Foden.

Aye, it’s hard to decide.

100 for Jack or 90 for Nunez?

I really wouldn’t want to be named after a suburb of Blackburn.

He's being sold on for around 70 apparently

Watched Portugal win tonight and PSG last weekend, and thinking how good is Vitinha?

I'm annoyed it gives that twat Ronaldo another opportunity to claim the limelight

I agree on Vitinha though

Nation's league similar to Europa and Conference league, meaningless

I don't mind the concept particularly for them at the bottom but don't think I've ever watched a Nations League match, certainly not intentionally

Amazing stuff this

The lad Mendes at left back is something else too, great for PSG and top drawer last night

40 years old still scoring in finals.

The man's ridiculous.

He might be a plonker but christ there can't be more many dedicated sportsmen out there.

Meh.

Your missus could've scored that goal.

A top professional no doubt.

Missed the final last night. Did catch the semi between Spain and France. That went from being a boring one-sided affair into an epic. Probably would have been the better final?
