Was still a cracking game last night, feisty, competitive and some good goals. Tailed off a bit in extra time, as they do, Portugal's pens were good

Doku looks like another player strangled by playing to Pep's structure and orders, far more free tonight to go at people and fire shots off, rather than go at them then stop and have another pass

That's the most frustrating part of pepball especially when they have the goal scoring freak that is Haaland in the middle. It made sense to work the ball around when playing with the 'false 9' a few seasons back. But get it in the box and let Haaland do his thing.

He gave it up on paper. I assume that’s his gripe that he did so in preparation and palace haven’t done a thing.

Still a very bad look and the weird thing is he’s negotiating with Textor the palace guy to sign 3 players from his Brazilian b club as we speak.

Whatever happened to Septic Blatters 'simulation' punishments? Watching some of the southern European leagues it seems they are now rewarded for it!
