I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

He’d of needed a Time Machine to catch the same stuff we were playing. Was years off the pace.

Yep. But it may have helped if he'd seen that live ... & maybe picked up some words of advice. Like "oooh, I wouldn't if I was you".

Oldham v Southend today in the National League final. Probably favour Oldham but will regret that if they win as no doubt we'll draw them in the League Cup or Sherpa Van and they'll do for us.

Massive game.  I know any play off final is nerve racking for those involved but I can't imagine how fans of both clubs feel today, especially those of a decent age who were only ever used to them being in the EFL.  With only one promoted automatically, it could be years before they get this chance again (Solihull lost in 2 of the last 3 finals and get nowhere this year).

Previous 4 finals have gone to extra time and 3 of them decided on penalties.

Good luck Oldham.

Well, what a post match series of events in Paris and surroundings.

"Prostestors" (not all fans apparently) running amock.

2 dead and 600 arrested.

17 year old lad stabbed in the chest, police officer in induced coma after firework explodes in his face.

Fucking mental goings on.

Usual suspects.

Oldham back in this now

My best mate works for one the CL sponsors and has just sent me a message about what a fantastic weekend he’s had along with a photo of him and Iniesta with the trophy.

I do hate him sometimes

You’ve got to love football

Imagine being in that end then.

That's the drug we all chase.

aye

know a lad who is Oldham born and bred but lives in Burnage so his kids could easily sway towards City but he's having none of it

so he's taken them all over in the conference home and away for the last few seasons

so proper happy for them, exactly what they needed from a wembley trip that

Sadly we'll have a surfeit if that barking mad, flat-hatted owner for the next few weeks.

If it had happened in Napoli, it would have been lauded as passionate fans and great to see.

That Oldham result is probably my favourite non-Bolton result of the entire season.

So pleased they are back in the league, for their fans and also for the EFL generally that there is a proper club back in.  And the good thing about promotion to the EFL compared to eg to the championship or Prem, is they are up to stay, they aren't getting promoted to the relegation zone, they'll probably be top half next season.  Like when we left L2, we knew we were never going back, we left it behind.

Southend will be gutted and I feel for them, imagine being a few minutes from getting back into the league and having it snatched away.  However crap we felt post-Oxford - they will be feeling worse.

Aye riots in Paris and France are extremely uncommon and never ever lead by ethnic groups from the suburbs out to cause maximum damage, loot and steal.

They are just overjoyed celebrations like in Napoli.

Phnar.

Correct. Massive difference even if the end stats look similar. No looting in Napoli to my knowledge. Just over excited locals doing what they have done for centuries in moments of ecstasy (not the drug - not required).

what was the qualifying criteria for this club world club or was it just pound notes?

How long did Boundary Park have Bolton written on the roof for?

Chelsea scraped in as they'd won CL within previous 5 years
