i did wonder and thought it may have been to do with having a champs league game in the week

They haven't. Prime time viewing in Qatar though.

Think there's always a Spanish game kicks off at that time, Madrid and barca normally sat/sun evening though - would appear every game is on tv as there never seems to be two games on at the same time over there

 

Serie a have an 11am (our time) game on a Sunday as well

Celta V Valencia finished at midnight spanish time then Barca kick off just 12hrs later.
