  • Yes it's telly for the masses.   Sheep the lot you.

  • Correct.   And yes homo I've seen it and switched it off immediately as I felt like a sheep.   I put radio 4 straight away and had a massive wank over a report on Jewish women's rights in Mogadish

I am out! Can't stand the twat, makes me squirm!

Chris Evans.

Clarkson contract was not renewed because he assaulted a producer.

Evans was expelled from grammar school for assaulting a teacher.

I think Evans will do well on TG. He knows how to connect with people and towards the end of TG it had become the Jeremy Clarkson show.

New presenters and slight change to the format and we will all be loving it. Jodie Kidd would be a great addition to the programme. She knows her cars and is pleasing on the eye.

Good stuff, I like Evans. Think its about time the show had a change.

He might do well in the UK taking his "fanbase" with him, but his smiley quirky style will turn off the major market of the USA and Australia. Top Gear will not be the Golden Goose for the Beeb that it was.

do people actually watch top gear?

what a load of shite

People in USA and Australia don't like "smiley"?

And I don't mean the poster

If you'd meant the poster, you'd have listed more countries.

after Sunday night we can add the Scots and French to that bracket following a "discussion" on the yes/no vote

what a load of shite

cant see it attracting blokes who cant drive

It is watched by 350 million viewers worldwide (just a few more then watch Liverpool), with overseas sales worth an estimated £50m a year. So I would give that a YES

It's a given that they're going to have a woman involved, forget that Jodie Kidd and her 'car knowledge', get that girl who does the Formula One in, the one who looks like she'd eat you for breakfast and spit you out if you didn't provide her with ample satisfaction ;)

I hope the new one is a success here and abroad, just to piss those three nobbers off (well, I suppose two of the three nobbers are less nobby than the third, noblets, if you will)...

Forgot the rules...

And if you don't prefer watching her than James May, all the motoring and appreciation of 'laddish' pranks in the world can't (secret) un-bummer you...

Think he lived in Halliwell for a while. Sure I read somewhere he has a soft spot for the Wanderers.

Indeed. Perhaps he'd like to invest in the club, he is minted

from that article on being surprised why he hadn't heard of Carrs:

And second, because they’re from Bolton, very near where I spent the first half of my life – in fact, I lived in Bolton for a while.

I remember now him being on R1 and having Des Lynam on, might have been around Euro 96, but when they were all talking about what teams they support he said he liked Bolton, and remember Lynam going "Bolton?" as if to say "why the fuck would you like Bolton?"

Tom Evans

Gonzo should host Top Gear, he's an expert on it.

Love a good banger :D

I didn'y know he was from the area, another reason for people to hate him

He is from Warrington and presumably had a cheap first house in Bolton area when he was working in Manchester.

He is also related to the 2 Evans brothers who played RU for Scotland in recent years. Their father was a golfer, and I think is CE's cousin.

I also remember seeing a Ferrari parked by the side of the road on the A50 a couple of miles south of Knutsford some years ago (2007 ish, maybe). It was Chris Evans's car, but when you run out of petrol it comes to a halt.
