ricktrotter Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Well that fiver promo worked then.Sorry![/qu. Hardly a roaring success ,but with 14,700 on and only a couple of hundred from millwall, probably 2k more than there would have been.so a reasonable response. JSL. Quote

I agree think a sub 13k would have be in attendance without the promo, and I doubt we're out of pocket as i can't see many of the extras going to that game at over £25 a ticket. I think the club seem to know what their doing contrary to popular belief. Well done BWFC. Edited March 17, 2015 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Casino Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 i believe we have about 9k sth 3k paying on the gate would pay 75k at £25 at £5, 5k paid 25k fag packet figures but just chucking it out there now, if those 5 definitely wouldnt have come at £25, its adifferent argument but we both know agood percentage wouldve done if some of the extras have never been before and become life long fans, maybe it worked Quote
davidjack Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 But Casino, you keep telling us the average ticket price works out at £8...so £8 x 3k...which is actually less than £5 x 5k. I don't think anyone in favour of the offer expected thousands more to turn up for a game at this stage of the season, with a patched up team etc etc. The point was to try to draw a few more people back. As it was, well over 10 per cent of the crowd on Saturday was made up of people who otherwise wouldn't have bothered. A win, another good debut from a promising youngster...who knows how many of those may well be tempted back again, and tell a mate or two as well? Quote
Casino Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) ii keep telling you cos its fcuking true not some fanciful might be or could be cold, hard facts and if folk wont pay 350 quid for seasons football theyre lost to us ffs, its only a days pay if id never been before, id not go again it was too cold we really need to do something about that Edited March 17, 2015 by Casino Quote
QFPants Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 if id never been before, id not go again Surely that's one point everybody can agree on? No fairweather fan went on Saturday and thought 'Tip-top; I'd love to pay £25 for that again'. It was barely worth the £8 per game my ST costs me Quote

To most of our support I very much doubt that. Also if you get a ticket for yourself not including A kids ticket what's it cost you. Quote
davidjack Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I was just pointing out that your 25 quid x 3k calculation didn't tally with your oft repeated £8 figure. Don't shoot the messenger. Quote
Horwich Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 There were more fans at the game and thats what the club should be trying to do. Infact, they should do it for every game until the end of the season and try and sell some more ST for next year Quote

Casino Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) potentially, aye, if the ground was big enough to fit 80 thou gates for the game against rotherham but crawley would say it wont work but he is working in another industry, granted reducing prices does not guarantee increased crowds - it certainly doesnt guarantee increased revenue the only thing that would be guaranteed to increase crowds is promotion prices would also increase and people who cant afford it now would find the money to go as i'm sure you know Edited March 17, 2015 by Casino Quote
Traf Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Fuck me, we're going round in circles. Casino's ST is £398, I think. ie £17.30 a game. He also buys 2 kids tickets at £64 each. So, his outlay is £526 for 3 people to attend 23 games ie £7.62 a game. That's where his £8 claim comes from. His kids are probably older than 12, though, with him being in his late 50's , but changing the £64 U-12 tickets to U-18 only adds a total of £20 a season (£10 each) and takes his spend to £7.91 a game. * The other thing about the £5 tickets. If 3,000 came at £5, I'll wager half of them were coming anyway. So we took 3,000 x £5 (£15,000) instead of 1,500 x £25 (£37,500). I'll guess the extra 1,500 attendees didn't spend an average of £15 on sundries etc and that even assumes every penny spent = profit! So, in my eyes, the offer was a failure. We made less money and had to handle more people. Edited March 17, 2015 by Traf Quote

JSL. dunno using the Brighton game as a benchmark as they probably bought the same amount of away fans - that was 14,115 watford with reasonable following was 14,230 thinking 700-1000 at best hopefully they enjoyed the quality finishes Quote
Carlos Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So, in my eyes, the offer was a failure. We made less money and had to handle more people. It was near me, the only extra people was some cunt in a Burberry coat who brought 4 kids who spent the game fighting and pissing everyone else around us off. Scum. Keep the prices high, keep out the riff-raff. Quote
Traf Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 traf, it doesnt come from there it comes from the club accounts its about 8.33 per seat ps i dont think theres an u12 ticket There is an U-12 ticket, I've bought one for junior at £64 for next season. U-18 is £74 and ESL /WSL is £398. So it mightn't be your exact situation, but an adult and 2 kids can watch for less than £24 between them. I'd imagine North is even cheaper. Quote
embankment Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I bought a bovril and a twix .Taking advantage of an amazing 2 items for £3 deal. The club is to be commended on driving down my match day costs. All we now need is a Super Match Day offer in conjuction with Barnstormers , with the club subsidising 50% of the price of a pint. That's the way forward. Plus a deal with Asda , so I can go online order my big shop and get dropped off with it at 7pm. Saving on my aftermatch taxi fare home. Quote

Kill Cricket Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) the club have decided adults will subsidise kids This is the problem - lazy little kids sponging off us hard working adults. Bastards. Send 'em out working - down asbestos mines or something - and put the children's price up to subsidise adults. I'd think about going, then. If the kids were to subsidise my ticket. As it is, it's the little fuckers that keep me away. Think about that next time you're arguing for free tickets for local schools. It's them or us. Edited March 17, 2015 by Kill Cricket Quote
