Bigtoe Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 ALF = Andy Walker. Really need to try and get him in for next season. Quote
tomski Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Defo. He's a natural finisher that we haven't had for some time Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 How olds Alf? See I like McCarthy but at 31 I am oot Quote
Farrelli Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 ALF would probably cost at least 500k though as he is under contract for another year. I think he is worth that if NL has some sort of budget though. Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 worth more than that in today's inflated market shirley? hes worth a million plus in this league I think he'd cost well over 1 million personally I like him more than Rhodes he's got more to his game sadly think we won't be making the signing on a permanent basis. tomski Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Thing is nobody knows how much he will cost, so I wouldn't worry about what we can and can't afford etc. Quote
burnden Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Le fondre is in contract at cardiff until May 2017. There is a bit of bitching going on with him and cardiff manager http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-russell-slade-8833026 Quote
Casino Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 How olds Alf? See I like McCarthy but at 31 I am oot do you remember the allardyce defence that got us promoted? Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 do you remember the allardyce defence that got us promoted?Good shout. He's a spring chick in comparison. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Just checked our defence against nob end in the final. Gudni, hendry, Charlton and Barness. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 At 31, McCarthy has at least 3 more good years left in him. If he's sensible with wages, I'm in Quote
jules_darby Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I've mentioned it before; ALF wants back up here big time ITK Fact Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I've mentioned it before; ALF wants back up here big time ITK Fact You can see he is playing for a move, just wish we had some money to make this happen it looks an excellent marriage. Quote
Piemon Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 His movement is terrific. love watching him in and around the box. Forever pointing where he wants the ball playing. If and its a big if we can get him signed then hes that 20 goal a season fella Quote
Arrested development Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 You can see he is playing for a move, just wish we had some money to make this happen it looks an excellent marriage. My only issue with this signing is how Clough and Clayton are going to fit in. I don't think Le Fondre can play up top by himself and is better suited to playing with somebody. I don't see Clough or Clayton as being able to play up top with him as they are all similar. Clough is better playing in the hole, but I just don't see Clough playing off Le Fondre as being productive. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 do you remember the allardyce defence that got us promoted? Yea very true BUT that models not an option to us how many top flight appearances would that back 4 have versus McCarthy many many many more buying in experienced oldies was allardyces specialty but they ave be right ones and don't get me wrong McCarthy is very decent it would appear Quote
Guest Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Le Fondre would be a great signing but doubt we can sink that much money in. And the way we will hopefully be playing with Clough behind a striker doesn't suit Le Fondre sometimes as you need a target. McCarthy looks solid to me, and I think he's on a free. Sort of signing I think we could do with. We need to find a centre half partnership, Dervite is hit and miss and Wheater for me is just too slow against certain types of forward. Mills and McCarthy could be it, but it is still early days. Quote
