Is anyone, in our current plight?

I'm sure some on here revel in it

Fair enough, let's cut our cloth. Can I be first to predict that next season will be fucking shit then

No, i did that weeks ago.

They same people will be on here saying we will do well. They have been saying it for 4 years now

The lower down the pyramid you get the harder it gets we know this because we've done it before anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional Sheffield United can't crack it .You need the right manager the right players & some good fortune not necessarily pots of dosh .Having a few good younger players helps as well maybe that's a start.

Depends on which example you use. Bristol City won league one with ease but that same squad have battled relegation in the championship. They gave had to loan players in to improve their squad this year, and are still battling relegation.

Sheffield United and other examples have found it difficult to get out of league 1.

Too many variables to suggest how we will perform. I'd rather be positive and wait and see what squad we have next year.

A relegated squad is not used to winning.

Dropping a division doesn't of itself change that.

If there is a new heart beating (in a much changed squad) then anything is possible.

These young an hungry players are bobbins too.

That's the problem.

There's only holding shown any promise and his defence concedes 2 per game minimum.

Clough has been invisible, Vela falls out with every cunt and isn't that good anyway.

Who knows about Woolery and Tom Walker will never play above this level.

Clough's not yet played a season's worth of games. He's arguably been given the saviour tag by both fans and manager, who many times played a formation and tactics hardly likely to get the best out of him. He's not yet matured physically and has suffered injuries.

Not long ago plenty said not to big him up too much and rightly so. He's also had to contend with a disinterested number of senior players.

All things considered, it's no wonder he goes missing from time to time. I think he shows plenty of promise, just needs a manager with more tactical and man management nouse than the previous one.

Yup.

There is a huge amount of pressure on him, and it's probably not the best situation to learn in.

Clough will be a decent player and funnily enough, although I think madine is better for the team than Heskey, clough would develop far better next to Heskey.

If Lennon could have motivated this squad I am convinced we would have been mid table and that's the type of manager we need a motivator and some tactical knowledge which sadly Lennon didn't have.

The difference between relegation and safety is a goalscorer, the decision to not go back in for ALF set the tone for the season ahead. It was reported that Lennon wasn't keen on Alf yet he chose to spunk money away on terrible players that he then never really gave a chance.

Relegation could have easily been avoided but sadly it's just another case on the long list of mismanagement

Why don't you apply for the job?

Why don't you apply for the job?

Because they'd tell me to **** off

Lennon wanted ALF and he would have been the difference between staying up and relegation.

Anyway whatever reason we have for feeney going they have my support

He didn't. He was holding out for hooper

He didn't. He was holding out for hooper

We couldn't afford either

3 games we won with him in the team

We've won 4 in 36 this season without him.

We've won 4 in 36 this season without him.

Progress!

We're already down this season, we know it, the players know it and Deano & SS know it.

We know that we are currently losing around £1M per month - if we can reduce this buy circa £50K per month by off loading Feeney then it's a no brainer surely, or am I missing something?

We should be forcing the overpaid shit ones to go like Pratley and Mark Davies

I'd doubt that any of his summer signings would have got near ALF's wage demands

Even Amos won't be half of them if imagine

In Lennons defence we don't know how many of his signings he wanted to play but was unable too as the players had smaller basics with hefty appearance money - it could have been that ALF or Gary Hooper found themselves banished to the training ground as well so they didn't trigger further wages

Not a million miles away from the Spearing sutuation now

All a big fucking mess

Our already shit income will drop over £10m next season

Anyone who thinks we are gonna do well is crazy

Mid table at best

That article was published last month. Obviously Lennon would say something along those lines to try and mask the terrible job he's done. The fact is, Lennon didn't want to go back in for Alf last summer

What about this one, from September last year?

NEIL Lennon has revealed how agonisingly close he came to re-signing fan-favourite Adam Le Fondre.

Neil Lennon: “It would have been nice to have him on board,” he told The Bolton News. “He made a big contribution last year and he was very popular with the supporters as well.

“We tried – hard – but it was just a case of finances in the end; that was the only thing stopping it.

“We worked on it, hoped that maybe we’d find something else, but it wasn’t to be.”

Feeney confirmed on official site

Faveourite feeney moment?

Cross for Craig Davies when we battered Wigan at home or Huddersfield goal away (before we got battered)
