My lad did them all as a ten year old. Said smiler was best, but oblivion (?) was close.

I think Oblivion is really good. Smiler looks like it would be good but no fucker would go on with me which basically means they didn'the want to hang around waiting for me either. To be honest I wasn't too fussed. Nemesis was voted the 9th best coaster in the world last year, that's my fave.

Oblivion is ace but I actually like Rita bestest.

But Smiler is lots of fun.

Weird- it looks like it just lowers too far. Either that or something snaps as it starts to swing.

Just been Alton Towers a couple of weeks ago on a Monday - no queues which makes a difference.

 

Why people don't go on single rider I'll never know.

Went to Alton Towers today and did Rita for the first time. Fuck me, I thought I was being fired into another dimension. It's not even the fastest ride there (technically, Oblivion is), but the acceleration is mental. Got back row on Wickerman too, and was surprised how much more intense it was compared to being near the front. I don't even enjoy being on rollercoasters. If anything they terrify the absolute shit out of me (although I play it down for the kids). I just like getting off them, buzzing with adrenaline, with legs like jelly. Which is probably the same as most people really.

Blackpool fixed Aviktas today and began work repairing the big dipper..

First ones back on the dipper would have balls of steel!

I reckon Rita's a bit shit. Some of the quick EVs these days seem to accelerate quicker. Thought it was decent when it was new.

It seems that I was there the same day as you. Stayed overnight on site so got 2 days at AT. We had a fasttrack pass to the rides. Cost us an arm and a leg for the whole gig. The fasttrack tickets were worth their weight in gold. On the first day I went on all the big rides 3 times. Loved walking past all the plebs in the big queue like I was lord of the manor.
