Something's not right here, a crash on one ride and the park closes for x amount of days? Could something like this close the park for good?

Merlin have said AT will be shut whilst the HSE carry out their investigation. So that any recommendations from their report will be implemented across the park before they reopen.

It's just being safe.

Just reading about some of the others injuries. Not good reading.

 

One guy with two broken knees and extensive hand iniuries,a lass with internal injuries including damaged liver,another with smashed up hands etc etc.

I'd rather have a leg irrespective of the amount of money offered.

 

I think there will be a confidentiality clause in any settlement about disclosing amount of compensation paid.

The Smiler rollercoaster at Alton Towers has been closed after reports debris fell from a carriage - 14 months after it crashed leaving five people seriously injured.  Around 30 people were stuck on the ride when it was stopped by staff at about 12.00 BST.
