Eddie has had some abuse these past few weeks, a lot of it unwarranted by idiots.

  • So a bloke who gave us £150million is asking that his contribution be remembered by naming a room after him. Not a stand or the entire stadium. A room.   He's also asking that instead of getting his

The administrators would sell to those assets to the highest bidder

I'd argue that "could" be another party(s) wanting those assets singularly

Serious question, what is the benefit of this from offering Eddie similar money? The downside is certain relegation obviously from admin, which devalues the club obviously.

Bolton Wanderers issue response to article published on The Daily Mail website

In response to an article published on The Daily Mail website on Friday 6 November entitled 'Bolton Wanderers staff fear jobs amid concerns about club's financial stability', Bolton Wanderers have issued the following statement.

Whilst the club acknowledges it is going through a challenging time, there have been no threats to any staff jobs in the immediate future.

After consistent backing from owner Eddie Davies, the club continues to seek fresh investment in what is a difficult and challenging economic climate.

I haven't missed half off by the way.

If Eddie Davies puts this club in administration I will platt shit

Supposing it isn't Eddie Davies who makes the decision?

A company would only force it's debtor into administration in an effort to get them to sell assets and repay the debt

Eddie Davies owns both companies so can do this without putting us into administration. I'm confident he would rather manage the process himself than have an external administrator do it.

I.e sell of bits of car park

Eddie Davies could sell the stadium, training ground and lostock tomorrow- transfer the cash to his personal account and be done with it - he doesn't need to force an administration to do this

If I'm honest I wouldn't be suprised if he did it soon enough. All the shit he gets of large sections of the fan base, I wouldn't blame him. I'd probably do it myself.

Just take a look at the oystens and count are selfs a little lucky. Whealan at Wigan has done a good job of selling assetts (players) in recent years and pocketing the money too

Large sections of the fan base?

I've not seen or heard very much shit directed at Davies tbh.

Plenty on FB saying he's corrupt

Plenty on FB saying he's corrupt

Fair enough.

I don't go on there as its full of cocks.

Don't go on Facebook either, and can't believe anybody would take notice of the type of bell end who spouts off on there. Just waiting though when the whole thing blows up, for the Gartside/Davies cheerleaders to blame the fans. As they ride off into the sunset counting their millions, the club all but destroyed there will still be people saying I don't blame them they have been hounded out.

Asking questions when people talk utter shite about Gartside/Davies doesn't make someone a "Gartside/Davies cheerleader". Why does it have to be so black and white? It is possible to have an opinion without either hating or loving someone.

Because some just appear extra willing to make excuses for the owners yet slag the fans off every opportunity

Whereas others would argue black is white just to be contrary in their multiple guises

I'm not sure why we are looking for scapegoats anyway

Yes, we're in the shit on and off the field but it's hardly a unique situation, were not the only ones who have been in a similar situation if not worse (Pompey, sheff Utd, sheff Wednesday, Charlton, Leeds, Coventry, Wolves, Southampton - the list goes on) - for me it's generally what happens in football with clubs our size

Yes it's a fucker and it's a real shame but everyone goes through a shit period at some point

With hindsight maybe we should have clipped big sans wings sooner to avoid escalating debts

maybe we shouldn't have gone for continuity with little sammy Lee

We probably shouldn't have given Megson the money needed to avoid relegation by buying Cahill, Muamba etc after all it sank us further into debt

We shouldn't have appointed Coyle or backed him with funds to get us back in the premier league

It's all could have, would have, should have - the only thing we should remember is there was no appetite from the stands for us to throw the towell in and accept relegation, we all wanted to see us spend money in an effort to stay in the big time and now we as a club are paying the price

Until someone comes in and pumps millions of their own money in we are stuck spending the limited money we bring in. In the meantime all we can do as fans is turn up and give great support like we did last week at PNE

Have a go at Gartside by all means if it makes you feel better but Eddie has sunk countless millions in BWFC, how anyone can have a go at him is beyond me.

That's as weedy a response as they come.Basically the only positive Eddie has to offer the club's support  is the office staff won't be laid off in the next couple of weeks.

Maybe the office staff is who the statement was made for.

If he did do that then those fans giving him the dogs abuse would be proven correct.  I'm not defending them here BTW.

I was just pondering whether BWFC "today" would be in a better position financially, on the field and league position if he had not got involved? Granted we may not have hit the heady heights we did between 2003 and 2007 but I wonder how it would have panned out?

It would, however, be a pyrrhic victory.

I wouldn't worry about it

There are no Thais interested in buying us anyway. It's all bollocks
