DirtySanchez Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I agree, unless they can raise some money to chuck into the academy which I think is what they've been talking to KA about. That would be a big and positive step forward and might get folk who are offside back onside. Can you just admit you backed the wrong horse? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) Can you just admit you backed the wrong horse? There was no horse to back it's important we have a ST in place, all seems rosy now with our current league position but let's see how the long game with the current ownership plays out shall we, you can gloat now if you wish but if I were you I'd take a deep breath given that we're still in an embargo, still owe blue marble and are still reportedly losing 800 k per month. One day you might back the right horse but this one not yet the one. You must try harder. Edited April 11, 2017 by Mounts Kipper Quote
Big E Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Mounts the horse is not the trust tho. There is nothing there. They need to be impartial Quote
Bigtoe Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 They've put themselves up as the Supporters Trust, with the actual aim of owning the club. Now they are stuck with fuck all and no exit strategy. They are totally and utterly pointless, as we can see, their Twitter feed is now just retweeting Marc Iles and wishing John Gope-Fenepej happy birthday. Oops i forgot Happy birthday John Quote

They need to be impartial It's not the trust that's the issue here it's the people running it who don't see suitable however the ST is a legal entity that has the first call should the club go into administration and that's all that we should concern ourselves with at the present time as it guarantees that the club can continue. Folk really need to look past the people who are currently on the trust board ignore them if you wish (I couldn't give a flying fuck about them) what I do care about is that should a situation ever arise where the safety net is needed it is now in place. Casino Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 The only advantage the mistrust have is that they get chance to bid Nobody has to accept their offer Anybody can make another offer So, just what is the point? Quote

If the club goes into bankruptcy the club can be wound up that is unless you have a Supporters Trust who must be offered the club first, without a ST it's liquidation and the clubs dead. Thats my understanding and that's the point. Edited April 11, 2017 by Mounts Kipper Quote

tomski Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Everyone seems to be arguing the same point here. If the trust has different people running it, it's a good idea. With the current lot. Not so Quote
Horwich Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 The ST is just made up of dicks who should be playing "football chairman" on their iphone apps Bells Quote

Not sure I follow this. The Trust is rotten because of those running it. Backing it, is backing those running it. If they ever get control of the club then we might as well pack up, go home and draw the curtains. Saying the trust is important is meaningless if those running it are worse than any potential private investor or owner. The message needs going out loud and clear that there isn't any support for the current Trust board and that if there is to be a viable ST those involved need to step down and leave and let a proper ST board form that is truly there to be an official fans voice. Rather than some politically motivated power grabbing opportunists. Quote
gonzo Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Why not just set the trust up the week before we go bankrupt? Quote
passmosster Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Why do we need the Trust if we have a Supporters Association and reasonable ownership (not quite certain on that yet) ? They put me off big time going to the League over Anderson's head. I shan't be renewing. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Why not just set the trust up the week before we go bankrupt?Pretty much tried that last year and it didn't come to fruition. In principle its a good idea, but it seems odd that supposed investors didn't come on board. Perhaps that's the greatest reflection of those running it. Quote

stevieb Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 How does a club increase their share of TV revenue. It's split equally between all clubs as far as I'm aware (?) and even if it wasn't what the fuck can the club do to make Sky put them ont tele? Quote
DirtySanchez Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 That Leeds chairman was complaining that they were on sky too much! As the amount they got was fuck all in comparison to the drop in gate receipts Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Personally, I don't think so I'd think one is definitely us. Hopefully get promoted reduce wage bill and we then become self financing. Quote
