My experiences though, In Britain mostly, tell me that the 'left' has become narrow minded, pig-headed and rather 'dictatorial' with it's views.  I have experienced this myself and been labelled some rather nasty things for wanting to discuss things such as racism, equality and immigration.  It panders to minorities in the face of overwhelming majorities.  Takes offence at the slightest thing.  In short - I'm fooked off with folk who blast this rhetoric.  It's intolerant, out of touch and seems to lack the ability to reason and consider differing points of view - even though they may be wacko or otherwise.

 

There's a large irony in there somewhere . . .

 

I've even coined my own phrase for it - liberal fascism

Well said. The problem lately seems to be a preference for "black or white" politics. If someone says something you disagree with, they're a cunt, full stop. I suspect the vast majority of people mostly agree on most things. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any room for that sort of sensibility at the moment, and that's been the case for a long time now. Everyone is either FOR or AGAINST something. Which is utter bullshit. Debate is always immediately replaced by conflict.

No I don't he needs to be strong leader to fight US corner abroad and deal with issues at home it's a tough job with tough hard decisions to be made and from what I see he's a much better option than Clinton. And he'll be a much better friend to the UK than her.

Throughout his campaign he's spoken about protecting American jobs and imposing tariffs on imported goods   -   granted he might not follow through with this. If he does though, then he might not come across as overly friendly to us
