Lets not pin all our hopes on ZC, he's good and a brilliant prospect but he's not proved to me yet that he's consistantly good

to be fair, there aren't that many hopes left to pin on him

but

everyone bangs on about us needing a goalscorer, and whilst he's not out and out he's shown enough in his time that he can both score and create and give us something that we sorely miss when he's not in the team

the start of the season showed us he won't consistently be the player he's been hyped up to be by some, but, he's probably one player we can look to in these dire times as someone who can give us a winning edge

like mark davies used to, before he was injured all the time and went shit, which, could happen to ZC, but it's not to say the potential isn't there

Good result after being two down.

Bit of fight at last.

Agreed. But we won't win games by going a goal down in 1st minute, and 2 down in 20 mins. And we need to win. A lot.

About Mark Davies....do we still say "On his day, he's the best player in this division" ?  -  or do we now all realise that was always utter bollocks?

When allowed the freedom to do his thing i think he still can be one of the best.

At the minute he playing deeper than he likes, but i'll be honest i think he's played well every time ive seen him play.

I think needs must at the minute and we need him to be dependable and keep the ball and play it simple rather than his trademark drives forward.

a midfield trio of him Spearing and Pratley would allow him to be at his most effective. But that takes clough out of the game

You deserve a bloody medal.

We're definitely better with clough than without him so there's not much dissecting of that required I'd say

i would play a front three with ZC and Mavies just behind heskey or madine.

then three in midfield from danns/spearing/pratleyfeeney

and four at the back.

i reckon we would win the league or at least stay in it !

Just back. £1 each way on Mega Bus....live the dream !

No questions about any of the players' efforts or commitment last night to fight back like that.

Spearing made a big difference for the better. (he'll probably be dropped on Saturday )

Great to see 3 of our youngsters playing & doing well.....Clough looked a bit rusty & missed a 2nd half chance but he also showed some lovely touches & he has a proper footballer's instinct to put himself in space at the right time in the right place.

The fans were great & i didn't hear any stupidity when we were 2 down,

The downside is that a draw probably wasn't enough when a poor Charlton side were there for the taking having lost a 2 goal lead & with their own fans on their backs.....but there were lots of positives.

Travelling on Mega bus is above and beyond the call of duty how the fuck did you get it for £2 return? How long did it take you. I salute you.

Ha ha, it made a change & the return left London at 1am which was better than chancing the last train at 11pm.

You get the £1 tickets by booking about 2 months in advance (i did it on the principle that i could live with losing £2 if i couldn't go ) & the coach was all modern & though over 6 hours each way was a bit of a drag, it was still preferable to K&F to me.

I have to say it is a magnificent effort.

Arise Sir Va Va ...

Ah, brings back memories of midweek milk trains home, overnight buses, late-night changes at Crewe. But no more.

I don't know for sure and I can't be arsed checking but I'd guess that ZC is our top scorer over last season and this (18 months)

I recon he's just about edged ALF out

Given that he only had his full debut 11 months a go into that 18 month period and has spent at least 6 of this 11 injured if think he's our best bet of getting goals required for a run at staying up

Keeping him from picking up an injury will be the hard bit

But then again his injuries have been inflicted through bad challenges rather than recurring injuries that other players get

He's our best hope as it stands unless this war chest lands

I'm not checking either but I'd guess Feeney might be close

Aye, the overnight train from Piccadilly to Euston used to be an experience !! I'm old enough to have travelled in the transits that used to leave Moor Lane first thing Saturday morning & we used to get cardboard  out of the market skips to make it a bit more comfortable but by the time we were coming home it was like  being in Bobby Sands' cell......after all that, a comfy coach is no hardship !!

I'd give silva a run up front but then I had another mad idea of playing him on the right wing

Id give walker a run on the left wing, you know as he's left footed

Surely it makes more sense to play a naturally left footed winger at right back :)

Walker is a decent player for 30 mins until he runs out of steam. Certainly not a bad option from the bench

Got to build on last night now. Win on Saturday and then go to Rotherham full of confidence. Should take a few more whites too. Any news on Vela?

Like the positivity, hopefully the young players will give the team energy with their enthusiasm. We've only lost one more than Chelsea ????
