Clough and Madine can't play together up top. They aren't a partnership. They don't suit each other.They both need somebody willing to make runs in behind the defence, and neither of them does it. It's too easy to defend against. Second half Preston pushed right up and dominated.

 

We are just a team of individuals with no identity. What suits clough, stifles mark Davies. Pratley and mark Davies can't get forward with clough sitting deep, and both are not defensive midfielders. Going long to Madine renders clough useless unless it's a perfect ball that Madine can bring under control. When we play through Feeney we don't get enough players in the box to take advantage of any crosses.
