Lancs / Yorks Rivalry.

When I was young I hated Yorkshire cunts, but over the year's folk in that part of the country are awreet.

I work with a few of them. Mainly Hulll-based. Nowt wrong with them apart from that fucking accent. "Err nerr, there's a kern in the rerd."

I think it only exists in cricket. And that's not like football rivalry.

They lost the big one and they have learned from that. I look at them more like compliant neighbours.

Most are good folk.

The retarded among them though are proper retarded.

Like 'off the radar' retarded.

Any county that produces Geoffery Boycott and Dicky Bird has a lot to answer for in my opinion.......

Yes agree with most opinions on this. My main gripe is the accent and the celebrity knobs they have

They are preferable to southerners

North > South is the last bastion of regional identity. Breaks down a lot further before then which I find interesting and amusing in equal measure.

World champion producers of mass murderers.

"Yorkshire born, Yorkshire bred,

Strong in the arm, thick in the head"

No surrender.

Harold Shipman trumps Peter Sutcliffe every day of the week. He was merely playing with toffee hammers compared to the happy doctor.

Doctor Death may have done his dastardly deeds in Hyde, but he was born in Nottingham & did his training & early career in......

......Yorkshire!

The Lancs v Yorks thing is real, just go to Headingly for a 20/20 on Western Terrace.

But......both sides would rather a a northern team won than southern, so there is also a bit of on the same side too.

Ian Brady was known to have been interested in the machinations of the Marquis de Sade.

Them bloody frogs.....

No rivalry at all from me, not 1 bit.

My son's Christening party was at OT cricket ground. My uncle had difficulty gaining access to the car park - because he was wearing a YCCC tie.

The 1964 English Schools' Athletics Champs were at Hendon (the stadium which is now Allianz Park). There were a couple of big lads throwing for Cheshire, who got their team shouting, really shouting, for any Cheshire finalists on the Saturday afternoon. There weren't so many of those, so if no Cheshire athlete they shouted for Lancashire. If there were neither Cheshire nor Lancashire then they supported Yorkshire. In the rare events where none of those were represented there was a relative silence as Middlesex, Surrey, Essex and whoever fought it out.

Not a great fan, typing from Leeds.

What's the definition of a yorkie? A Lancastrian without brains

Shipman gets described as Britain's worst serial killer, but with over 200 kills under his belt he should be the best surely

The worst serial killer would only have one, maybe

They have good beer in Yorkshire therefore they are ok by me - but we are better on the red rose side

Name one funny Yorkshire comedian?

You not a fan of Norman Collier's faulty microphone routine then?

Charlie Williams.

Old skool!

I like the way they say fruit juice.

That's about it really.

Nobody in notlob says that apparently :)

Takes me back to that night when we blitzed those Yanks in Prague re the best serial killers.

Now, here's a Malcolmesque fact for the serial killer fanatics.....

Adolf Hitler was idolised by Ian Brady.

Re the Yorkshire Ripper....Sutty's inlaws left Czechoslovakia due to Hitler's chaps invading, and we know Sutty got rather irate when Sonia sucked off the ice cream man in Bingley when she was given a 69 with no flake in it.

Dennis Nilsen the London Puff Pillager and Rapist only came to the UK after his Norwegian parents left their homeland once again due to Adolf's fine fellows keeping them up at night whilst gently tip toeing through the cobbled streets in their Cuban heeled jackboots.

So, based on proximate cause, Adolf Hitler is the cunt responsible for three of Britain's top drawer serial killers.

Strange but 100% true.

My Dad, born and bred in Bolton, married my Mum who is a Yorkie

Earliest memory as a kid going to see the relatives in Yorkshire is driving across the M62 in the early 70's. Soon as we reached Saddleworth and that plinth with the white rose on it my Dad would boo loudly. On the way back we would pass the one with the red rose on it coming back into Lancashire and he would cheer loudly

I'm 52. I still do it. I can't help it
