  • Booing achieves fook all. If you think about it, you are working against the interests of what you actually want (i.e. BWFC success).   To be successful, optimism must win over pessimism. Always hat

  • Cheers Burnden. Cracking was that.

I wish folk would stop blaming the fans all the time.

Sick of fans being blamed all the time

don't blame the fans

Nobody has ever "blamed the fans" for the failures of the last few years.

Criticising people for mindlessly booing at every singly tiny opportunity does not mean you are "blaming them" for anything.

you chose , as usual, to ignore everything else & the context of the point.

Booooooo!

Sorry Bowton but it pisses me off as well if I'm honest. Fair enough on full time if the performance warrants it - but we were looking at our best start to a season in 84 years. It's not like we'd lost the opening 3 or we were already out of sight.

It took us until November 30th to amass 12 points last season.

Fuck me we were shit.

I thought the booing was aimed at the ref to be honest!!

couldn't  agree more- I moved from the angry kid who shouted 'you're garbage Bolton' at every opportunity, so I don't know if his Ritalin has kicked in yet

I was home and mostly away every game from about 1975 to 1985 and it was only when things got really really bad that I remember them being booed off at HT.

Bristol City at home, lost 4-1, Roy Greaves bagged ours and the Wanderers fans even booed that. That was my 'I've had enough' moment. Didn't go back for ages and havent really consistently since apart from my glory-hunting years late nineties/early naughties.

Moving to Denmark now so not sure I'll ever go again!

No need to apologise. For the record, I'm not a booer!

In the past, it also pissed me off. However, I can fully understand why people have done it in recent times & as I've stated in a previous thread we're at a delicate point in the relationship between supporters & the team.

Although the team are currently getting the results, they will only get the support by putting in the effort & that was lacking in the first half on Saturday. I missed any booing as I normally leave just before half-time to avoid the rush, if there is some, I'm guessing it's not the odd individual but a mass of people, pointing to the fragility I've mentioned.

Yes there's a time & place if folk are going to do that, maybe half-time isn't that point in some eyes, though I'm glad Parky brought it up in his post match interview & it looks like he may have used it during his half-time talk, who knows, maybe it was useful? Maybe not.

Booing at half time is mental.

As for our fullbacks? They've nothing infront of them, so they're expected to play up and down all game with no immediate out ball.

Cafu and Carlos would have struggled.

And Moxey's role in their goal, he was just a bit slow to react, that's all. Not a major fuck up, just the kind of thing that happens unfortunately.

4 in 4 and a nice run of home games after the Charlton match. Best times we've had for a while.

Spot on that, 4 central midfielders to play off, on a very narrow pitch.

I think this would be more at home in the False Burnden Memories thread.

Aye, Greaves had been finished a few seasons by that match and had been replaced as the crowd scapegoat by our Warren.

Jesus, I'm fucking sure it was Roy Greaves but now realise it can't have been.

I'm pretty certain we were 4-0 down and got one back near the end, when the booing started. Monty Python was being repeated on BBC Tue Nights and I wanted to watch them so I'd already half decided I'd had enough.

Not sure if we had a video then, when did they come out?

Mine did when I pressed the Eject button.

What's the legalities of me secretly recording my new knobhead neighbour at the match and shaming him on YouTube?

Oh yeah, thrown my toys right out the pram haven't I

Cheer up sausage, I'm sure we'll lose soon and you can get a semi on, in your stained Y's sat on your couch

Unfortunately I miss Charlton; away with family.

Hopefully Howard spilling that one at the end was a one off and not something he regularly does.

Top of the league is great.
