  • Food tends to be the more "solid" of the two and is served on anything except a plate. Ale is generally wetter and served in a glass.   Hope this helps

Is the duke William shut or open at the moment? Has its fair share of closures.

Where's Northender going to go??

Diamonds

Cross Guns in Egerton.

Starkie was shut last time I went past, but don't know if it's finished.

Starkie is becoming a convenience outlet

I'd be surprised if The Lever bridge opened again. Also, there's a rumour going round Darcy that The Levers Arms won't be open for long either.

Its been bought by the same people that have the Thomas Egerton. One of them will focus on food and the other one ale. Can't remember which is which though

Cross Guns is owned by the same guy that has Ciao Baby (which was the Prince Bill - there's another one). Last I heard it was supposed to be (eventually) re-opened as a pub.

Another bar just opened in H-town ...and another due to open shortly ....just saying.

Hear The Bay Mare is closing

Allow me to be the first to claim it's becoming a mosque

Landlord is leaving but pubs not closing, pub co will stick a manager in until they find someone to take lease fully.

It's become a bit of a shithole over the last few years - which is a shame cos it used to be a decent little boozer

when Arthur had it.

Aye pubs in AB in general have gone downhill over the years, even tap could do with a sprucing up.

I heard you can buy coke, via the bar, in one of the AB pubs.

Bloody hell.

My grandad was landlord there in the 60's.

Morris Dancers have just sacked the landlord/landlady  that's about 10 in the last 8 years I think

now that soon will be a MOSQUE

Best get Bev & Martin out of retirement.

Me and Crawley used to be in a band when we were about 18. In Bolton we played at the Crown and Cushion loads of times, Hawthorns, Oscars, the Academy, the Bowling Green on Escrick Street and Barco on Halliwell Rd. None of them are open anymore. The moral of this story is - don't book me and Crawley if you're a publican! :-)

Did you play at The Railway in B/X ? :)

Another goner.
