Guest Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Never been Surely we could get rid of more than that? Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Never been Surely we could get rid of more than that? Agreed. Not done Rochdale myself and might even come out of retirement for it! Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Never been Surely we could get rid of more than that? Think we'd sell 4K easy. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 One which the fixture gods shafted us trying to sort Tuesday afty Wednesday morning off to make a decent sesh out of it Quote
bolton va va Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I think it was at Rochdale once when our keeper got lobbed.......while he was on the goal line !! Always found the Rochdale fans to be a decent bunch unlike the arsewipes at Bury. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Used to go there a few times a season when they were in League Two. Good set of fans, was always a good craic. Went against the Bucket Shakers a couple of times, all good fun. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Really fancy this. Never done Spotland. Quote
Marc505 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Been a couple of times to Rochdale, I went to see them play Burton in the league a few seasons ago. Calvin Zola scored and I thought there was no way I'd ever see us play either of them in the league - now Burton are above us! Agreed about their fans, they were a sound, committed bunch Quote
tomski Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Aye had a few good times at Rochdale. Sound bunch, good couple of boozers including the one one the ground. Quote
Traf Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I think it was at Rochdale once when our keeper got lobbed.......while he was on the goal line !! Kevin Rose Quote
bolty58 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Went to a League Cup match at Spotland and we won 4-0. Bolton all over the ground. Rochdale fans in the pubs were all sound - even back then. No chip on shoulder/inferiority complex like Bury Quote
gonzo Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Is the cemetery pub still going? Blackpool fans air conditioned the place not so long back. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Been a couple of times to Spotland but not since the 2-2 in division 4. I remember going once for a friendly on FA Cup 2nd round day as we were both out the cup! Anyway, in for this, prob out for Bury Quote
Zico Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Def up for this one Like the ground and pubs nearby Been Spotland once in the away end with a Notts County mate County got beat 3-0 Mike Whitlow was their coach Meanwhile we were getting bummed away at Chelsea 5-1 Quote
captainmed Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Only a short cut through Owd' Betts for us. Few scoops in Spoons mid afternoon. Quote
Con Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Last rattler 2251, so not much time for a sup after. Quote
The Wanderer Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I've always said I'd love to do dale away, but never expected it under these circumstances. Finish work at 3.30 I'll be supping in weather spoons by 4. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Used to go there a few times a season when they were in League Two. Good set of fans, was always a good craic. Went against the Bucket Shakers a couple of times, all good fun.As you'll guess from profile name, live local and get down there when. I can. Same as, enjoyed seeing good number of games when they went up first time under Hill and Flitcroft. They deserve better support than they get but those that go are all right. Willbutts Lane chippy across the road from away end is a belter Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Is the cemetery pub still going? Blackpool fans air conditioned the place not so long back. It's still going strong, cracking ale selection. Couple of decent cheap Sam Smith's pubs in striking distance, not sure about if any match day policies but will post anything I find out Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Never done Spotland, will deffo be going to this Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 My mate is Chairman of Rochdale Cricket Club, about 15 min walk from ground, with big car park. Nice, good sized clubhouse, good JW Lees beer range, TV screens. Away fans welcome, open from 5.00. You've to walk through a residential estate to ground so they just ask that you bear the neighbours in mind when you do. Quote
tshape Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Out. On holiday. I was looking forward to this one too. Quote
