Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 13, 2016 Site Supporter Share Posted October 13, 2016 My mum bought a curved one- not sure its anything special. If they're more expensive than a flat, personally wouldn't bother. In laws got a 4k one. Can see the difference; almost 3d, in fact feels a bit uncomfortable if too close. Think its a Panasonic. Think its a Panasonic. presumably the 4K one only looks really good when watching something that's being transmitted in 4K.....and I'm not sure how much stuff is at present. We've got one of them curved efforts, some things look quite good on it, as it seems to add a bit of depth.......but for the most part it's "style over substance" I reckon - it's a Samsung telly, and it's too fucking clever for it's own good (or indeed, I don't know how to operate it properly yet), as it keeps syncing with my phone, every now and then when I'm pissing around with my phone I'll look up and their will be one of Gonzo's videos playing.....or even worse, a picture of Garrp staring back at me. kent_white
We recently got a Samsung Smart TV (not curved) and it's been excellent. I watch a lot of stuff on YouTube and Netflix and stuff and it works really well. You can also cast from your phone to the telly at the touch of a button - so with the (ahem) right third party apps - you can watch whatever films you want etc.

I'm very pleased with it if truth be told. As for Cassie's comment, would anybody actually put a curved screen up on a wall? - surely not, it would just look silly. I'm not a big fan of TVs on walls anyway though to be honest, as I don't like hanging wires/cables, and I really couldn't be arsed routing the wall to hide the cables
Moderators Casino Posted October 14, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 14, 2016 Proper classy 01942 scuffers stick curved screens on walls and let the wires hang free

e2e4
why have they plastered in a wall socket (i presume a two socket -er) - specifically that high up to hide it behind the telly - but then the '4-way extender' thing dangles down ? it's like a modern day M. I like the look of this baby http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-visual/televisions/plasma-and-lcd-tvs/panasonic-tx-58dx750b-1320678/review On the wall is the only way to go. However, not looking forward to having to rip out all my existing cables from behind the dry lined wall. Wish I had done then what I am about to do now, that is cut out a proper channel and buried some 100 x 50mm trunking behind the plaster board
Traf
Curved on a wall would work in a corner or a lighthouse.

Traf
Or a windmill Quite correct, so it's not such a ridiculous idea after all.
