I realise I’m not with it and considered ancient at 48 by the people he’s targeting I suppose, but what is the attraction of watching someone’s face while they watch a match? Or filming crowds?

apologies if there’s more to it than that, but all the clips I’ve seen of these people is just their face in the crowns describing what’s happening.

cant see the fascination myself

Do wonder if his posts, which will appeal predominantly to younger people, have played a small part in the increase in attendances. Certainly seems plenty of youth in attendance at the moment.

You are looking at a hundred grand a year income, not bad, but not enough for WW.

He gets more than that is spends off his dad, Stephen, who contrary to some the abuse he gets, is a decent chap.

I’d hope kids up and down the country who maybe don’t have a football-supporting family may watch Th’Ogden and decide, “If Bolton are a good enough team for th’Ogden then they’re good enough for me.”

Aye.

There isn’t many things I’d pick having a real job over but being Thogden is one.

I would love to see you living life as a Thogden tribute act

Probably mentioned before he was at Athletico Madrid with his dad with a massive egg on his head after a generic kid whacking head injury. fair play to him for not going to bed sulking it was a right lump

Last Sunday, I was at an event called the Armadale Cup as one of my grandsons was involved (note - he missed the 5th penalty in the shootout in the final after a 0-0 draw during the game, condemning his team to defeat. Last year he scored the winning 5th penalty in similar circumstances and was the hero. Football summed up right there).

Standing in the crowd with my son watching the final were players and connections from many of the other clubs who had been involved in the tournament. One kid spotted BWFC tattoos about our person, points at us and, in a very loud voice says one word. "Thogden!".

I asked him how he knew that name and he told me he watches all of the Youtube videos and 'quite likes' Bolton Wanderers because of awareness generated by Thogden.

I suppose that should make us consider if Thogden is a good thing or a bad thing? Obviously nothing I would ever seek to watch but, if it is spreading the faith?

Yes - good point, he’s most certainly spreading the faith.

Its already happening, but who would have thought a few years ago that a “YouTuber” would have so much influence.

Whether you like it or not, young people for the next 20/30 years are going to reference Thogden as to why they follow the whites.

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, you can’t blame him for following the clicks, the sponsors, the money. And if that means him following the Big Games around the world, then why the hell not? He’s good at what he does. It’s going to set him up for life.

I still maintain that his best and most Passionate videos are of the Whites. For anyone in doubt just look at his Forest video when we stayed up.

I’m always quite open to an alternative view and often change my mind accordingly. But I’m yet to hear an alternative view that this is just a BOLTON fan that’s made it into the big time. Albeit in a way and manner that us oldies find hard to relate to.

I find it hard to not like that story.
