  • Not quite a show… but the missus has fallen asleep mid program; I do it all the time, just watch on… she doesn’t agree. She’s now fallen asleep 3 times during last 10 mins of episode of Outlaws.

He was declared bankrupt a couple of years ago and twice attempted suicide. Credit to then, they weren’t shy about covering it in the programme. Merson has really gone up in my estimations with the help he gave to Hendrie, and at least attempted with that fat prick Ruddock.

Finished the shield last night. I’m in a dilemma whether it replaces the wire as the best of all time. And I think it actually does. Phenomenal show. And what an ending.

a year and it will be getting watched again

going to restart the wire tonight as well. Been a while since I saw that.

billions series 5 just started as well. Hopefully it’s as good as the first 4

The prison thing, oz? Is on sky now

Same makers as the wire, I think

Old but highly rated in tv reviews

I started it a couple of years back. I only watched a few episodes as it felt far too dated.

plenty tough to watch scenes i believe?

Oz is good, but like you said, dated. The creator worked on David Simon's first show Homicide: Life on the Street.

Simon, since the Wire, has done Generation Kill (miniseries about Marines in Iraq), Treme (show about musicians in New Orleans post-Katrina), the Deuce (the story of the Golden Age of Porn in NYC in the 70s) and The Plot Against America (alternate history drama set in backdrop of WW2)

its good but a bit "fay" considering its about muslim terrorists and mexican gangs that.

alf garnett's gay black neighbour being head muslim is a bit funny.

the endings ripped off another tv show, iirc, but you cant tell unless you know.

St Elsewhere vibes, considering its kinda by the same dude

Just finished 'The Last Dance'. Absolutely top class.

Never been into Basketball but that's changed.

Throughout the series I found myself pausing it and going on Wiki to research teams, players, managers, etc.

Felt like when I was a kid with football and I could list all the League and cup winners.

I've now more chance of telling you the winners of the Eastern and Western Conference in the NBA.

Could probably tell you the name of the MVP every year (player of the year).

Bingeing in Benidorm, up to s7

Nearest thing to a holiday

Basketball is brilliant and they are incredible athletes

Jordan is something else a freak of the game. What Messi is to football.

Up to episode 8 of Last Dance, he's some character Jordan isnt he. His foray into baseball I had no idea at all about.

Love the rivalries with the really physical teams and the trash talking its ace.

Something I'm realising now, I was in my late 20s when Michael Jordan was in his prime.

I knew his name as a basketball player but that was about it.

Also knew the names of Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Shaqille O Neal, but that was about it.

Oh and Dennis Rodman, reckon you could make a whole film about him, quiet but mad, fucking love him.

Scottie Pippen, what a player he was in that team.

Just finished it now. Excellent!

I'm the same too. I can see me getting it.

I strangely remember this from my childhood Saturday morning ritual of Trans World Sport then Football Italia.

Trans World Sport probably has a whole different meaning these days though.

Jordan wouldn’t have done half as much without Pippen.

Steve Kerr as well what a man

Article in The Guardian makes him out to be a bit of a cunt. Pippen not happy with what he said about him.

Anyway, Basketball is shite, on a par with Rugby League.....

Jordan came across as a cunt at times, thought it was a warts n all series to be honest.

Pippen came across well, what''s his beef in the Guardian article?

Used to love both of those shows, was always a treat when TWS had football on from some obscure league for 20 seconds before going on to cross country skiing.

I'd have totally wilted playing in a team with Jordan, takes a certain character to stand up to your own team mate destroying you verbally and physically in every session!

Little Jerry takes a beasting a lot too!
