Fargo is one of my favourite films

Never seen the TV series

So just started it

superb first series

I think I've avoided it before as thought it would just be a rip off or trying to be too much like the film so didn't want to tarnish the memory

it's not, it stands alone as a great bit of TV - Freeman and Thornton are excellent

and the other 4 series are all independant stories set in different places and time periods

so getting stuck into them next

Excellent 24 hours in Police custody this evening. Part 2 tomorrow.

Just watched them both after the footy. Blimey!! Not giving anything away but away from the case itself there’s a young kid there who’s going to grow up with that family history. Such a shame. How on earth do you ever manage to live with that?

One of the best ones yet.  It’s a brilliant series. How do those solicitors sleep defending folk, especially folk like that who are clearly guilty. (£)

Know someone who is a solicitor and does a lot of cases for folk who are in court for driving offences

99% of the time they plead guilty but he is still needed as courts take a dim view of you if you're not represented, same if you turn up in jeans and a tshirt rather than a suit

He used to do legal aid stuff and if you're down as a solicitor who does that you couldn't turn it down if someone needed you

Again most of the time he wasn't there to defend them as such, just to get a best sentence for them and to make sure it was a fair trial

I once spoke to Nick Freeman, known as the ‘loophole’ lawyer. He was the one who got Alex Ferguson off his speeding offence by saying he needed a poo. My mate hired him to get off a drink driving charge and succeeded. They were both guilty and he fully knew it. Charged a fucking fortune though. Think I’d have taken the punishment 😃

With him he gets you off on technicalites, hence his nickname, which shows what a shit job the police must do in bringing the charges

If you're done for drink driving or speeding you should be bang to rights as the evidence should be irrefutable

Yes I know that, but can’t really see what more the police could have done tbh. Anyway how is all this to do with TV shows 🤔

The police doing their job properly

If your mate got nicked for drink driving, was bang to rights, but Mr Loophole got him off suggests there is more the police could have done

No there wasn’t. He was drink driving but it wasn’t a simple case of supplying a breath test at the roadside. I’d go into more details but I can’t be arsed with writing a long post.

Fuck knows how he managed to get Ferguson off with his excuse 🤷

Just watched the 4th episode. Shite. Not bothering with the rest.

Signed up for another 7 day trial and watched the last 2 episodes out of sheer curiosity. Bit less shite, but I won't be paying to watch Series 2.

Edit: Just had a look and there's actually 9 episodes, not 6, so I will probably watch the last 3 with another 7 day trial over Christmas.

Aw I didn’t mean you personally mate. Don’t worry 💙 You asked why I was ignoring your daft questions & I explained. That’s all that meant.

You didn’t need to get all upset about being ignored & desperately try bringing the drama into someone else’s post.

 You sad bastard 😂

'The War Between the Land and the Sea' on iPlayer is fucking dreadful. Only started watching it because it's been stuck on the landing page all week. Proper tacky shite with terrible dialogue, terrible effects, and abysmal acting. Didn't realise it was a Doctor Who spin-off until half way through episode 1, then it all made sense. Dog dirt.
