GJ I’m completely on the fence about. If he stays then we’ve got to be starting the season with him as the 3rd / 4th choice of our centre back options - up to him then to take a chance he gets if those ahead are injured.

Isn't GJ an ever present this season? In one of the best defences in the division. 
 

I don’t get the hate. I’d offer him a new deal. He deserves it. Whether he’s first choice or not. If we don’t, another championship club will.

I'm fairly certain he'll get a lovely deal from Blackpool this summer and more power to him. 

I think he lacks quite a bit physically and with a step up they only become more evident and he struggles a bit to make up for them now with his ability on the ball so can only imagine that'd be even more evident higher up. 

I'd be signing at least two new CBs with a view to Forino and Toal being capable backups.

Agree in principle - yes, ACD helps a lot.

But presumably we don't sign Tutu up on the basis of ACD might sign at the end of August or whenever?

Whoever plays RB has to be a dependable championship standard RB who can adapt to different line ups and formations, just as our LB has to and everyone else.  Even if we sign ACD, he might get injured as we know.

I repeat I'm a Tutu fan and I'd want him in the squad, I'm just stating the obvious that his form in the play offs was not a reflection of his whole season or even the most of the last 4 months, there's a guy sits near me gives him pelters most games because he's not the most reliable defensively and often refused to join the attack with any conviction.  

Its a big leap to be sure he's gone from not being a L1 RB to being a championship standard RB in a month or 2.

Not one of the best defences this season....No hate for him 100% every week but got caught time and time again this season. Would be a liability in the championship. Let him go and further his career at somewhere like Blackpool playing every week. Like Dempsey he never let the club down but it is time for him to move on.

That Leicester squad is rotten.. Has talent, but huge earners with shit attitudes. Most will go back overseas. The English lads may stay and fight (on whopping deals)

The ex Tottenham midfielder who is lower end of Championship at best, is earning £90k per week...

No issue with either will always get a warm reception but it is time for both to move on

That is probably the right decision re Johnston. But I think it is important to recognise that he has been a decent player for us at this level and always put in a shift.

I've been critical of Johnno over the season and beyond and I think we need better to progress.

But he's undoubtedly been a massive asset for us for the past 5 years. He's finished his time at us as good as he could have done really. The past 3 games in the play offs he's been a colossus.

I always love a player who celebrates a big tackle too and will miss that greatly.

Most of this goes for the other lads too, Macca, Demps etc. If they're to go too it will be sad for the same reasons, but probably best.

Regardless of what news we get in the coming days and weeks,  I have confidence that Schuey & Fergal know what we need for next season.

And those lads have all etched their names in Bolton Wanderers history in getting us back up.

I think it's a shame, but hey, we move on. I'm sure we've got eyes on an upgrade. 

I'd have kept him around, and I think he'd stay, but as said above, he'll be remembered fondly

Yes fair comment and nobody can be guaranteed a starting spot however young or old.

Aye it's a shame to start the offloading talk so soon after the jubilation of the weekend.

But in the cold light of day we need much better than GJ and Toal if we are to make a fist of it.

With our budget I'd say our team next season will be unrecognisable to the one we saw on Sunday.

They've apparently been planning for two different budgets all season.
