gonzo Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) If Evatt loses his main man who hes built a team around for the past 2 seasons is not replaced properly he will be on the phone to his agent before you can shout shit. Edited January 3, 2024 by gonzo Quote

barrycowdrill Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Everyone has their price but it’s also about timing. This is the worst time to take the gamble on cashing Charles in. End of the season regardless of what league we’re in, likely. When he’s the main man to determine what league that will be in? Doubtful Quote
Duck Egg Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 I was reading earlier that Finn Azaiz (sp?) is leaving Plymouth where he was on loan, to go to Middlesbrough for £2.5m. I love DC and hope he stays but if he does go, no way will we get owt like £5m Quote

Reckon it would take more than double that now. And for a top league one striker... Would cost us more than that for a reasonable replacement. Quote

Makes complete sense. Let’s hope he is here come feb but no one is bidding £5m. We can’t/won’t command those fees Quote

Not to mention the complete loss of goodwill built over the whole season and beyond. It's happened before. Quote
deeane Koontz Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 It'd be suicidal selling our top scorer and best striker halfway through a promotion chasing season when we're 2nd in the league. Then you have to bear in mind the bedding in time his replacement needs to get used to the system🤷♂️ Quote

Saying that, i dunno the terms but the headline million was a deal id have taken. What do I know I think we are now in a much better place to hold out for more Charles will be on a top level deal and we are not playing with a shit hand Quote
Casino Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 It does however look like im in a minority in thinking we should, if offered, take 4 million, despite loving DC Even thats guesswork as I dunno what we could get in Quote

Most folk had a higher opinion of him then than they did 12 months before. He seems to have a good attitude and willingness to learn and it is paying dividends for him and us. Quote

Club wanted to sell. He didn’t want to go. Reckon contract had bollocks all to do with it. Quote

W.cramp Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Have I missed something. Reading most of the above, it's like Charles is 100% on his way out from 750 grand to 5 mill. Sure I haven't seen any bids whatsoever, we should be pushing who are we signing to back him up in the starting xi Quote

We know IE likes his team rotation so anyone coming in wouldn't even get 90 minutes to bond with the same striker. Quote
