I don't post on here often but I'm really curious. Does this mean a formation change from 352? I can't see this guy playing wingback.

apparently we have been playing 343

In the preseason games we've been trying variants of 343 e.g. 3412 and trying to press higher. It has the advantage of consolidating the centre and getting more men to support the attack if we compete properly but leaves space behind us on the flanks as exploited by both Stoke's decent wingers, one of whom ran away to score their goal.

That worries me a bit as we are relying on one man either side to cover the flanks. I was hoping and I personally think with the players we have got now we'd go 433. But then, I'm not a football manager.

Had a wander throught the Ferverhar fans forum, and contrary to the report that the fans didn't like him (they didn't particularly, but they don't hate him) they do seem to think he has talent and are more concerned about finding replacements for him and another guy they've flogged. There is a sense of the owners cashing in and not reinvesting. They are concerned about relegation and that the club is only interested in bringing in youngsters for development and eventual sale.

I’m sure whatever our views were all hoping for that lusty, including the numpties obsessed with posters previous comments!! 🤷‍♂️🙂

Nah, comments on his obsession with being negative in games, and critical of each signing.

Some of us haven't seen him play, or barely, so that's that then- he's shite.

Wonder if Evatt has watched him?

Just a thought I was thinking that IE may have turned his attention to wingers who can cross a ball as let’s be honest we have had nothing but below bang average LWB for 3 seasons now who can’t defend or cross a ball consistently .
This might be 1 of his tactical changes and a bit of defensive coaching for the wingers and to ask the midfield to drop in once we are attacking ?

The only Hungarian Footballer i can name is Puskas.

Lets hope he as good as him eh.

I'll give you 2 more decent one's: Zoltan Gera (ex WBA) and that bloke that plays in Liverpool's midfield who's name I'll never be able to spell or pronounce, but he looks half decent.  I'm struggling after that.

I'd rule out 4-3-3 on the basis that we have about 7 centre backs so we're not reverting to just having 2 in the starting line up (Santos would be one, that would leave everyone else going for one place).

Same at RWB last season, poor crossing (and shooting) from JDC and weak defending.  There are far worse players and he's OK but wing backs often fall between 2 stools - not brilliant going forward (that's why they aren't wingers), not great defensively (that's why they aren't good full backs).  Declan John and Ogbeta similar, neither one or the other.

Oh for a proper full back to defend and a proper winger to attack, and at the same time you don't leave big gaps behind you.  Sellars and Elliott or Whitlow on the left, Johansen and Bergsson or Cox on the right - seemed to work OK!

Signing this Hungarian is a positive sign 🙏🤞

Didn’t boring bollocks Megson try to buy him

There's a story in the Mirror in 2008  - "Megson will raid former club WBA with a January swoop for Gera in a £400k deal".  We got Rasiak and Tamir Cohen instead (also Matt Taylor but he cost £3.5mil). Gera went to Fulham in the summer on a free.
