I’ve explained how I believe 3-4-3 differs from 5-3-2. To clarify, Cogley (as it stands) and Schon as the wide 2 of the 4, while the 3 up top would be, for example, Lolos - Charles - Collins. 

You seem to be saying 3-4-3 is exactly the same as 5-3-2. If I’ve misunderstood you, please correct me.

Exactly - wingers/wing backs on either side eg Tommo and Sheehan with 3 further forward. No point of having wingers crossing if there's nobody in the middle but a line of defenders.

Very attacking but when out of possession it leaves only the winger to defend the flanks when required so Toal and Johnston and the middle two have to prepared to go out wider if the wing back is beaten or bypassed. Everyone else tracks back.

Get Armstrong on the right and defences will shit the bed.

The only thing that stopped us was us.

If we can conquer that bit there's no reason why we won't be up there punching.

Despite our obvious failings we were a couple of points/90mins away from promotion.

I'd never heard of the Hungarian team we made our new signing from yesterday. Unsurprising to a large degree but usually there's at least a vague knowledge of some teams in each European country (existing or from previous times) from European competition (Hungary: Ferencvaros, Honved, Ujpest, Debrecen). 

Having looked up Fehervar FC today it turned up a nice footballing memory from the 80s. The club actually had a series of name changes a few years ago. Before that period they were known as Videoton - the team who knocked the rags out the UEFA Cup in 1985. That little episode provided a week or two of material to fire back at the multiple filth fans at school during a bleak period for us.

On the basis that we've improved year on year - have better strength in depth - have a competent goalkeeping understudy - seemed to have adapted our game plan to give us more options - have some good players returning from injury - haven't finished our recruitment yet and will (hopefully) have a squad that are smarting from play off defeat.

I would caveat this with the fact that I'm almost always wrong about everything to do with football so out your money on mid table obscurity 😁

Why do you feel it necessary to twist what people say? If you disagree just say that. I said that I didn't think personally Lolos and Southwood would challenge what we have now and I stand by that. It’s not a criticism it’s a comment so why try and make it something else? I’m not saying both won’t turn out like Rico and Dapo, I hope they do so just chill.

Twisted absolutely nothing. 

You claimed and still do that they aren't good enough, even though they haven't yet played a proper first team game.

Yet in the same paragraph claim you're not saying they won't turn out like others have.

Make your mind up!

And maybe stop criticising players with no evidence.

I get that, and vice versa. My view (and it is only a view) is that 5-3-2 is best served by full backs who can also push forward (Cogley) while 3-4-3 requires wingers who can also track back (Schon).

Those who are equally good at both roles, are usually playing at a higher level than we are!
