You said you're struggling to see where the valuation comes from.

We don't know what the figure even is!

Moreover, its bleeding obvious where our valuation comes from- simply how much Evatt etc want him and what value to the team, and the overall budget, etc etc.

In other words our club will decide on what they value him at.

I've no opinion on him as a player but its interesting to read the Posh owner saying that they'll get some sell-on fees for Toney and Szmodics if they move this summer.  They could be relatively huge amounts and would surely make the difference between them being a "selling" club and being able to splash the cash.  Its never sat right with me that a player moving from say Brentford to Arsenal could change the fortunes of a L1 club.  But if he stays at Brentford for 1 more season, that club get nothing.  Another club will have made more money out of a far worse player than Toney, just because he happened to move on before his contract expired.  If I was the Posh owner I'd be phoning those 2 players every day persuading them to move!

It was "seven figures" according to Iles.

I suspect he means over a million rather than £11,147.69

Odd they should get a sell on fee for Szmodics as thought they would have got it when he left Coventry to go to Sporting and now it would be Cov that get it if he moves

Szmodics never played for Sporting or Coventry, Blackburn bought him from Posh

No they paid a million for him and he has been ok, but no better than that. In his last year of his contract they cannot expect to get anything like their money back

If Randall was any good, Posh would be offering him a new contract but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
