Eavesy Posted August 30 Posted August 30 He’s had about a handful good 20 minute spells in a year and a half. He might be physically big but he barely ever dominates defenders and I’ve never seen him win a flick on or cushion a ball down to another player If we are going long in the last 10 he’s the last thing we need to be booting it to. Better off sticking a centre back up there. Snatch hands off for a million or anywhere close to that if it balances the books. Revert back to 3 in midfield and 2 up top. Charles, Collins and McAtee to cover the 3 with CMG back in a few months. 4 players for 2 is more than enough. Can get a loan in in January if we get a few injuries. Quote
Lancaster18 Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Didn’t we pay around 1m for mcatee? Levels above vic.. can’t believe we haven’t accepted it unless with add ons it totals 1m. Quote

We had loads of injuries last season, probably won't have any this year. £1m is good money for him, but I am convinced he might still come good. Quote
Roger_Dubuis Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Vic and Charles aren't good enough to get Bolton out of the 3rd Division.Raise whatever money possible from their sales. That's my opinion Quote
noxid Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Is Vic supposed to be a goalscorer or merely a forward type player? If the former how many goals has he scored in the last 12 months and apply simple maths to work the cost goal if we sell for 1mill. Therefore IMO time to cash in. Quote

Aye our manager is well know for adapting and changing systems to suit missing personnel. Especially when players tire during games Quote

If he’s not the long term answer and we have short term options until January, I’d let him go. We’ve already got people saying we can’t fit McAtee, Collins and Charles into the line up. When Lolos and CMG are back, the problem is intensified. If we have a major injury issue, there is still Dan (who I believe is also due to come good soon… 🙃) Quote

Depends on how you value a player I guess McAtee has one season in L1 under his belt Vic has five and 2 in the championship Quote

Can’t assist or hold the ball up. If we go up we’d want to move him on anyway. For me find a decent prem loan easier said than done i know. Or like someone said Gayle is a free agent and proven scorer for a season. Quote

Ani Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Always a surprising stat when people say we need a better goal scorer than Dion. Quote

He started backing in and position himself in nearly an identical way. Quote
Site Supporter only1swanny Posted August 30 Site Supporter Posted August 30 If a team the league above value him at 1m, and that's based on detailed analysis from scouts, I daresay there's probably more understanding than you're average fan. More to the point Evatt feels it's not enough which means Evatt values him higher than Mcatee.. (if I'm right in thinking we payed 1m for him). Quote

I guess they'd have to offer more than we value him at He's part of our plan, the plan is promotion Losing him weakens us, would need a ready made replacement of equal of better standard On deadline day I'm happy for him to stay Quote
