The way the current market is overheating, a player doesn't seem to have to do anything that outstanding for their value to go up. We reportedly paid £500k for Vic, he's done ok in L1, £1m isn't probably that outlandish.

For what it's worth (I'll duck for cover now), if Dion went and he stayed it'd give Vic a chance to show he could potentially work better in the middle of the three with Collins and McAtee. Having said that I'd still sooner see that central man in the three have a bit more aerial threat

He's clearly valued by the club and others.

I hear you and understand that. Happy to agree to disagree as I don’t rate him in the slightest.

Do you mind? We are trying to push the price up here :D

I’m amazed anyone has bid a mill for him. Genuinely

I think we are all a bit surprised by that as we were for the bid for George last time around, but on the other hand in an inflated market what would be the cost of a replacement?

Gives me a good feeling to think that we have progressed to the point where we no longer having to offload players for peanuts. We're in a good place - wouldn't be the end of the world if he stayed so we can try to push the price as high as possible.

Dan may prove somewhat more difficult to rehome though.

£1m for Vic seems a fair price to me. If we can play hardball and get a bit more and replace him with a young striker on loan from higher up, that would be excellent business.

Vic has shown quality at times but has never made himself first choice the striker position. Turning down 7 figures for our back up striker feels a bit odd in League One. If he stays then I’m fine with it but would like to see us generate some more profit through the transfer market.

Get it to 1.5m and that's impossible not to take, doubling your money on a striker that hasn't really done all that much even if the signs of improvement are coming.

You'd have to move quickly for his replacement obviously and a loan the most likely but I'll say it again, Miles Leaburn is the sort of signing we should be making.

I'm saying £1m is useless to us now and having Vic till at least Jan is worth every penny.

Unless there's another coming the door in the space of a few hours.

Fuck all physical presence up top without Vic 🤷‍♂️

Not one other option

Aye, I can’t see the vision with our forwards. L1 requires a physical presence and we have less than we had last season.

Always wary of ITK accounts with only a dozen followers, but one is suggesting we're in talks with Spurs over Alfie Devine on loan

I'd rather sign Magenta Devine

Given the average size and build of L1 defenders and that Evatt wants us to be a passing team I wonder why we should be playing them at their own game? I'd be very happy with a pacy midget that can finish better/as well as Dion a la Lineker/Aguero/Owen etc. and keep the ball on the ground like we did v Shrewsbury. Can always send the big lads up for set pieces and you seldom see the classic "winger crosses and the big striker buries the header" type of goal in the modern game. Dan is big and CJ and JDB could play "target man" but it never really brought us much success so why not play to our strengths?
