In the event of a later sale, Gent will receive 30% of the amount above 1,250,000 euros. Medical tests are now underway.

It led so some highly convoluted outcomes.Let me tell you what "a deal of three million euros, bonuses included" and "in the event of a later sale, Gent will receive 30% of the amount above 1,250,000 euros" means. We have paid as an actual fee, €1.25m. No idea if that's up-front or over stages.Obviously bonus' are added ... for promotion, winning things, him getting caps etc. If everything occurs that could stretch to €3m.There will be caveats & timescales on these. It allows them to say €3m and us to pay a great deal less. Should he end up costing us €3m it will reflect great success. All in all not bad, if the kid succeeds.

Monday at 16:033 days 1.25M is what they paid for him I think? You could be right though.Sounds like we've backloaded a bunch of contingency payments on this, would be surprised if the initial outlay is over 500K. Edited Monday at 16:073 days by jmjhb

Monday at 16:273 days Like we've seen English strikers are at a bit of a shortage, the few out there who've done relatively well or had a good season from (Delap, Stansfield, Lankshear, Ballard) ect all gone for pretty mental money relative to their levels. If Dean gets around double digits for us in the champ we could make a massive profit on him & hopefully his goals help stabilise us in the Champ

And that's not being negative about the squad, which looks like it should be competitive now.But up front currently a best case scenario is Dalby has to start every game.A worse case is a fairly long/medium term injury to him or someone else, and suddenly we can't afford an injury or rotation at all.We need to get someone in who's upto the task, but SS knows that more than any of us.

If Dean gets around double digits for us in the champ we could make a massive profit on him & hopefully his goals help stabilise us in the ChampIts strange in the championship, no less than 34 players scored 10 or more league goals last season. Yet the older one's of those (McBurnie, 18 goals), Windass, 16, Whittaker 14, Bamford 12 in 28 games) wouldn't be considered to be in great demand or a top signing. And those young-ish L1, unproven, players signed by Bristol City have gone for about £5mil each, Lankshear scored only 11 but went to Boro for £10mil and Devine scored 8 goals in 45 games and PNE decided to spend £6mil on him. Something doesn't make sense. So even if Dean or anyone else scored 10 goals (unlikely being realistic), he's one of 30 odd players that will also do that and its anyone's guess if he's one of the chosen one's to command a big fee.
Monday at 17:003 days Surely we'll see more than Dean before the end, I thought we wanted Diakite also, Kenny would be decent also 'cos he's already shown us what he can do and was impressive
Monday at 17:023 days Author i like the Max Dean thing if it comes off.my dad used to say “scousers either play football, sing of rob stuff”He’s a footy player and local lad - onwards and upwards COYWM
