Think we'll see more outgoings between now and Tuesday at this point.

Hopefully somebody comes in for Randall and surely loans for Ritchie, Harrington and Warren

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

It's a load of shite; wouldn't take any notice. The same with the sites that have the wages breakdown, all of them are way off

Aye I would expect so.

Hope Randall gets a decent team and finds his form, it's really not worked out for him here unfortunately.

Happy we have signed another midfielder of the energetic variety , performances at Sheffield & QPR suggest we needed more cutting edge there , both Sheehan & Erhahon whilst being good technicians lack that cut & trust aspect.

Not sure ACD hadn’t lost that ninety degree turn after his injury despite him being still a great prospect ,time will tell .

Good signings I reckon only the elusive striker remains

Feeling confident that will be sorted .

No guarantees but well done Whites.

I think Simmons might be a surprise departure

His sending off was not overly criticised by SS but it was still unforgivable

I'd wager he's kicking himself..

Great chance to establish himself above EE, and he's chucked it away..

Both very similar players, think EE has the edge

EE gets the nod for me every time, just need to keep him fit and hopefully Ito has just added more competition to keep him on top form to keep his staring place.

He’s had a good start to the season, but can he play 3 games in 8 days this week, I suspect not.

Presumably both Simons and Ito may get some game time this coming week.

Yes, wouldn't surprise me if there was the odd departure in there.

100%. Safe before the last day will be a plenty good enough outcome

If we didn't/couldn't build a squad with much of an upgrade, then maybe.

Given the huge number of changes, there has to be (and will be) a far greater ambition amongst the management and board than this.

I also don't agree that the very bottom of the championship is so vastly superior to the top of league one.

Further up, yes.

As above, there is no way that the vibe and message from the club is "21st is good enough"- these new guys simply wouldn't come, especially on long term deals.

What about a move for Macca too? If he doesn’t play today I suspect he’s all lined up for a move this week but if he does start today it looks like he’ll be staying.

I wouldn't read too much into that

Moving to wingbacks would certainly make sense with the amount of defensive players we have.

Lazza/Stephenson Toal/Forino/Davies/Akin/Brunt Conway/Akin

Sheehan/RR/Erhahon/Simons/Richie (at a push)

RR/McAtee/Dalby/Hardie

Dong is with a view to buy..

It would make zero sense. We've got 4 wingers again. What happens to them ? Why would we move to the Evatt three at the back. We are playing well with 4 at the back and two wingers, leave it alone.

Duberry is valued on there at £5m despite Brighton turning down £7.5m for him.

Bazunu is rated at £8m and we've just signed him for a couple of cold pasties and a Pink Floyd LP.

Excited by the 2 latest signings. The tide is turning and the old girl is on her way back up.

I'd be somewhat disappointed to finish as low as 21st, with all the signings we've made.

It would suggest that they haven't improved us massively.

I'm quietly confident that better things are being looked at by the club's hierarchy.

We have lost a player worth more than we have spent

If we improve by 8 or 9 places from last season, id say thats decent progress

I will concede, its not all about fees, but im not someone who wants to know them and i dont get this wanting to know

Wages will generally be a bigger chunk than the fee we pay

I’m curious about both, but you’re right about wages. Suspect our wage bill may have doubled.

Which album though....

McAtee is very lucky to still be with us imo, with RR’s early injury and Randall not being up to it, but he’s come back in good shape and gets a clean slate with me (again). He was decent against nob end and needs to maintain that standard and less of the pointing around, complaining, non jumping headers / challenges and the stupid shit that creeps into his game.

I don’t mind the opinion at all, I hope as a fan you are very much right!

But I think there is a difference between realistic fan expectation as apposed to the club/management/squad ambition.

Behind the scenes I’m convinced SS will be bigging them up, setting ambitious targets and sending them out confident and motivated to do the business.

As I said earlier I’d be disappointed if this wasn’t the case.

In buying these 12 new players, he’s not sitting them down saying “you want to come here because we can finish 21st in this league!” 😂

Behind the scenes I’m all for the positive ambition.

You might not be one of them, but we have loads of fans who are one extreme or the other. And when they get it hideously wrong with their positive predictions, they flip very easily!

They temporarily get it lodged in their minds that this side/squad (without any evidence) is much better than it is after some transfer activity. And for others, that expectation (finishing in the top half) is beyond the reality. Then when that utopia isn’t being met, it all gets flipped on its head! The criticism goes into overdrive! Everybody is getting it in the neck! SS, the players, the new signings, Fergal, Sharon.

We become ridiculously channeled into not seeing beyond the moment, not seeing the bigger picture - which in my mind should be first and foremost about staying in this division for next year.

55 points eh @Big E 😉

I am also happy we have bought a group of players who can theoretically hold their own in the championship and that is the least we could have done to have any chance. But these guys are a long way off the proven game changers many clubs have and we lack firepower so a lot will come down to what Schumacher can do with them. At this stage, even assuming we can get some quality up front, my expectations are no more than survival……but there is huge gap between expectation and ambition. There is every possibility we can do well but that would depend on intangibles like teamwork, spirit and tactics.

So we’ll find out in the next few days whether Jonny Kenny really is still target No1 but even if he is and he came here would we see the same JK as before? It’s unusual for a player to be so enthralled by one club and if all his hopes and dreams are shattered if Celtic don’t want him would his heart really be in it here, or initially anywhere for that matter. I know we’re all supposed to be realistic and pragmatic but human nature sometimes isn’t like that. The JK we had here before was trying to prove himself to Celtic but that wouldn’t be the same next time and one thing we really don’t want is someone who’s heart isn’t really in it.

As I’ve said before, Kenny’s desire to play for the club he supports is probably and understandably huge, but this obsession thing has been blown totally out of all proportion without any evidence.
