March 19, 20188 yr If Henry can’t do a job next season (and personally I think he’s easily got another year in him), would we be interested in taking Joey Barton? His ban is coming to an end and he’d offer that ‘nasty fucker in midfield’ role that Henry does. Make a sentence with the words - touch ten pole feet would not a with
March 19, 20188 yr Not sure Barton is someone you need in a team where togetherness and spirit is so important.
March 19, 20188 yr I wouldn't have Barton running my hotmail account never mind my midfield How about your website ?
March 19, 20188 yr I hope we keep Karl Henry - he reads the game brilliantly and snuffs out trouble. I'm a little bit worried that some of our many out of contract players are playing well just now in the knowledge that they've still to secure a deal. I hope Ken and Parky remember their mean level of performance before doling out deals. Anyway .... let's secure survival before the conversation develops further.

I’m not fussed about contracts I’d trust KA to get it right just like he did with Spearing.
March 19, 20188 yr I’m not fussed about contracts I’d trust KA to get it right just like he did with Spearing. He did. He got that spot on. I've not much reason to distrust his judgement on the strength of dealings thus far.
March 20, 20188 yr He did. He got that spot on. I've not much reason to distrust his judgement on the strength of dealings thus far. It showed great judgement. I wonder if Jay still uses the same agent? The 400k for Kaiyne Woollery also looks like spectacularly good business now

March 20, 20188 yr We got £400K for him? - blimey, he really is shit I think he was very raw, but seriously rapid. Had a quick google to see what he's been up to and saw this. All pace and very little finesse but fucking hell i'd love to be behind the goals celebrating one of those!! https://twitter.com/jiff1967/status/928424218160717824
March 20, 20188 yr I had high hopes for him. He looked to have pace and power and I was hoping we had our own Assombalonga on our hands. Turns out we just had another Facey Edited March 20, 20188 yr by Duck Egg
March 20, 20188 yr talking of shit forwards who showed promise. I've just had a quick google of Max Clayton, apparently he's only managed two appearances for Blackpool since leaving us. That's a career that seems to have sunk without much trace. He's only mustered about 120 games in an 8 year career, and he managed 39 of them in one season
March 20, 20188 yr made of balsa and glass A lot of our more talented players have been in recent years (read M. Davies). I guess that's why they were at Bolton and not a more established top flight team...
April 2, 20188 yr Great news. He has been superb this season player of season for me Not the best in the league and does make a few mistakes but he has made some crucial saves along the way
April 2, 20188 yr Alnwick close to a new deal It isn't how I read it in today's Bolton News. I thought it said he and his representatives were talking but the club won't move until they know which division they'll be playing in.
April 2, 20188 yr It isn't how I read it in today's Bolton News. I thought it said he and his representatives were talking but the club won't move until they know which division they'll be playing in. he says all parties are happy and he wants to sign, obviously which division will make a difference but it’s positive
April 2, 20188 yr BEN Alnwick has revealed he will sign a new contract with Wanderers at the end of the season. Positive talks have been held with the goalkeeper and his representatives in the last few weeks but a deal will not be completed until the Whites know exactly which division they will be playing in next season. Wanderers skipper Darren Pratley spoke up for the dressing room last week, saying the 20 out-of-contract players - many of which are playing in the first team - should look to secure next season’s Championship spot before concentrating on their own lot. Alnwick feels the feeling is echoed throughout the squad. “It’s not easy, I’ve got a family like everyone else, and you do need that security,” he said. “But first and foremost we need to get safe. There are a lot of lads out of contract but we’re all pulling in the same direction.” I'm taking all of that to say he isn't getting a deal until we know where we'll be. It's fine the BN say he's close to a new deal but the deal could change massively if we go down and then he'll possibly be asking, "Bolton who?" as he signs for a new Championship club.
