We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

So we never buy another player from a division above us? Because we aren't stealing their better players that's for sure.

Would love Assombalonga but we couldn't afford him. The other 2 for me would be Alex Pritchard & Martin Waghorn.

Just Declan John on that list. Happy to see who else Evatt fancies getting hold of

See Cahill is a free agent, could be a good signing for league 1 even at 35

I doubt very much we could afford his wages, he's bound to get a few offers.

Play every game for us probably. Be a hero.

Or go to a lower prem team at best and be a bench warmer.

Whilst that might be a wonderful whimsy from a fans perspective, it's more likely he would want to complete at the highest level possible for a decent wedge at somewhere that doesn't mean relocating.

Offer him a big fuck off promotion bonus...

He must be loaded by now anyway, what's a few grand a week difference😗  :)

Back to the list; some names but many I don't know. IE will be over it.

They are offloading them because they are too expensive or shit. For that reason I am out

Add that to some people automatically assuming if we sign someone from lower leagues ( eg Thomason) they must be shit & we really would be fishing in a very small pool.

You had a bang on the head?

so you don’t think they were good enough for us because they were cast offs?

I still feel that way about yon Anelka fella, why the fuck did we sign him when no-one wanted him? 😂😂😂

And that cnut McGinlay from Millwall reserves ffs, Rioch out!

and Kev Davies was a Southampton cast off. Youri a cast off from some German team? jay jay etc etc. where do you draw the line? a stupid nonsensical statement as it just doesn't work for some players at certain clubs but they can be superb at another.

Well good enough; both a risk that paid off. Clubs get rid because they believe the players are crap or too expensive. Championship players who are good will be too expensive and we don’t want to take chances with crap or injury prone again

So let's sign nobody 🤨

That's a nice whimsey. Not  entirely ridiculous if he still owns a house here as footballers often do. He's also a Sheffield (Wed.) lad so that may appeal.

Cash wouldn't be his main focus as, as someone has said, he must be loaded. Who knows, he may fancy coaching & know Evatt & see that as an opportunity.

Obviously a pipe dream ... but a very nice one.

Perhaps some of the players have deliberately let their contracts run down because  they want to move for whatever reason.

We cannot buy expensive players- we've been told already that we will be living within our means- so expect more wheeling and dealing.

Of course we could just stick with Comley et al.

Or could be that clubs are having to cut their cloth accordingly having had little income coming in over the last year and reducing squad sizes
