little whitt Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 It's a card onto which you load money (by bank transfer) and then you can use it anywhere they accept MasterCard. You can also use it at ATMs to withdraw cash, although there is a limit of £200 withdrawals per month before you get charged a 2% transaction fee on withdrawals. The exchange rate you get is much better than that offered by banks / cashcards / money exchanges (per the emails above) so it's ideal for using like a debit card. And you manage uploads etc by way of an app, which means it's easy to top-up instantly and keep track of spends. birch-chorley Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Put loads on, think a daily limit of £10k or even £20k Only limited to the funds that are available in your account Yes - use it any time you pay anything in that currency - you can use it over here to pay in £ if you wish I had to pay a chunk of my wedding in Mallorca, switched £5k in seconds and paid over the hotel reception Near fool proof Quote

As per Birch's post, although I would add that because it's a debit card l had to give the hotel reception my credit card details as a guarantee. When I came to pay the hotel bill at the end of the stay, I paid using the Revolut card. Quote
captainmed Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Take cash and get bank rate. Transfer money via transferwise but there a 1% fee but you always get the exact bank rate. Quote

MancWanderer Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Just back from Meloneras in Gran Canaria. Highly recommended. Bit like Paphos on a smaller scale with a nice promenade and plenty restaurants and a few decent bars. Wouldn't do more than a week as it needs to expand a bit more but totally different from Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas (which is next door) which are looking very run down. Looks like one hotel chain has invested heavily and developed the whole area. Prices not too bad either considering the state of the Euro Quote

Loved it. Stayed in Anaxos at Haris Studios. The island seemed cheaper than anywhere i have been to in greece. Petra was the next stop. And Molyvos (really nice) just after. All roughly 5 to 10 mins away from each other. Would go again. Quote

Its close to Argostoli and getting round the island. We stayed in Lourdas/Vlachata last month. More laid back. A car is a must. So many nice spots to go like Assos, Aghia Efimia, Fiscardo. Quote
