Leyther_Matt Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Everywhere in the Med seems really expensive this summer for some reason.Managed to get 10 days all inclusive in Ibiza for £750 each leaving this weekend. Dreading booking in the school holidays next year though. Quote

captainmed Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Malta in September and Lithuania in October Flew into Lithuania on my way to Minsk in Belarus watching England a few years ago. Think that was October. Did the sleeper train. Never seen a place with so many street drunks as Kuanas. Grim. Quote
Exiled Girl Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 hope its going well Jules Has anyone been Craotia, is it any good for families? Weve not booked anywhere this year and thinking an all inclusive but fecking prices are a bit much than im prepared to part with cos im a tight fucker in the school holidays, especially for Ibiza / Majorca. Croatia's brilliant but the beaches tend to be rocky. As for children, I avoid them so can't help you. Quote

Biggish Dave Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Been impressed with the trains in Germany, all bang on time and comfortable. Baden-Baden very nice for a couple of days, in Konstanz now which is also a lovely place but again wouldn't fancy more than a couple of days here Quote
tomski Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Everywhere in the Med seems really expensive this summer for some reason.Having a blue passport will make it all worthwhile though Quote
Traf Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Having a blue passport will make it all worthwhile though Spot on, mate. A blue passport, a shit exchange rate and the need for visas for Europe is perfection. Quote
jules_darby Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Left Devon today for Dorset Stumbled across West Bay, Bridport (I know now of Broadchurch fame), what a stunning place. The coastline in he background and marina and beach in the foreground make it absolutely beautiful. Just inbetween Poole and Sandbanks now for a couple of days, I'm sat now with a glass of red overlooking the bay / sea and it's not fully dark yet. it's like being abroad. No wonder we're different to this lot Quote
miamiwhite Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Good mate of mine lives there. One of the "famous five" who founded New Look. Quote
Smiley Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 We're going to Zadar in October. There are loads of nice places in Croatia, I'd recommend the Dalmation coast. Croatia is an amazing place and very safe. http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/croatia/dalmatian-coast-and-islands/holidays-dalmatian-coast-and-islands.html Zadar great base to see Plitvice and some of the nearby islands. Not a bad old town area for a few days as well. Quote
Guest Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Looking at Fiji and other South Sea Islands for Christmas/New Year Might take in a test The usual recommendations welcomed Quote

Traf Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Zadar is the word Croatian magicians use at the end of a trick. Quote
jules_darby Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Sandbanks Now that place drips with money 35 degrees today Ridiculous for UK Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 35 degrees today Ridiculous for UK That area is one of the hottest in England, consistently. My folks frequently holidayed near Bournemouth and were cooked regularly. Quote

Werder barmen Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 has anyone been to Zagreb? thinking of a couple of days on the piss Quote
Biggish Dave Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Vienna is highly recommended for people who like a Rome type of city break. Some cracking buildings, lovely parks and boozers down every little nook and cranny. Can't go wrong Quote
