I never went Mick, was only a pup then, heard many tales of it saying our following was huge.

The crowd that day was 27824, must have been at least 15000 from Bolton if not more, went in the Cow Shed because the away end was full.

Seem to recall having 3 sides of the ground that day

Would you guys say our cup run ultimately cost us promotion that season as our form following the Newcastle trilogy took a tremendous dip ?

We lost to some pretty piss poor sides in the latter part of that season.

I went in a friendly to Huddersfield on a Friday night in the same year, took about 50 lads on the train and we got twatted to fuck.

Was same in the League Cup the following season, we managed it eventually.

One of a few games where we seemed to have more fans than the home team.. Blackpool on Boxing day & Blackburn spring to mind.

If irc when we beat Blackpool on Boxing day 1977 they were 4th & ended up getting relegated.

Aye, I remember losing at home 4-3 to Carlisle, a very costly defeat.

We had four away games in the first five weeks of 1977, Fulham in the league, West Ham in the cup, Everton in the League Cup and Millwall in the league.

I bet not many went to all those aways.

Only two, West Ham and Everton.

Carlisle was one years disaster

Another year it was York city

Back on to Bradford in the FA Cup when we beat them 3-0, had a few victory scoops on the way back to the station, the Chorley lads stirred up an hornets nest in one and it was hand to hand on the Interchange.

Most I have spoke to are picking one or the other, I suspect Bradford may the better attended

My numbers are currently poor attendance for Bradford, significantly less than for Chesterfield & even Northampton, though most seem to be interested in Sheffield. Shame really after the Ointment attacked the Harvester, I was hoping for a Brizzle'esq response, though with a fair few aways this month money means there's those that will pick & choose

I thought every dick and his dog would be out for Sheffield but having seen these prices, it might tip a few going to Bradistan instead. That said, Sheffield is a miles better day out

if we can't take 2k plus to each its a poor do

The timing is unfortunate.

3 away Saturdays out of 4 in Feb.

When u throw Gills, Oxford and Southend into the mix you're talking serious money, not forgetting time off work.

correct, but I would tend to think that not many northwest whites would go to the last 3 you mentioned.

Going to do both as most of my mates are. Plan is in and out for Bradford and piss up for Sheffield

Doing both plus mk dons

The timing is unfortunate.
