6?

This post was meant for next year. Sorry ☺

There's not many people I would wish an horrific injury on

Jonny Evans is on the list though.

I hope he snaps every ligament in both legs and it gets infected during surgery and he wakes up during surgery and feels every slice of the scalpel the filthy red cunt

The day the downward spiral started.

The day the downward spiral started.

Think we've bottomed out, we've got some of those who sacked us off when we were shit coming back now we are winning again...

*Cough* anewman *cough*

I was watching that game in those shitty glass fronted boxes behind the away fans. When they scored I stormed off in a huff to the bogs and on coming back there was a black bloke at the bar in the corridor they service the boxes from. He was celebrating too much for my liking so I thought I would give him a smack then carry on walking out of the ground, even more so when I realized it was Andy Cole.

As I approached him I remembered I was representing the company and would probably be looking for a new job from Monday and that Andy Cole is quite a bit bigger than you imagine.

I suspect he doesn't know what a lucky escape he had that day :)

That's ace. Top work whites man

So fucking annoying that we were robbed of such a talented player, even worse when Holden seems such a good, genuine bloke. He didn't deserve to have his career taken away by a shithouse like that.

Why did something like that never happen to a cunt like John Aldridge or Robbie Savage?! No justice

He wished Evans a happy anniversary on Twitter today. Glad to see he's moved on.

I haven't.

Was he not being ironic?

I dont think so, he's spoke in the past about not being bitter towards him

He's just creating a positive public image so that on the day Evans gets sniped he's blame free.

This haha

I knew at the time it was a disaster, he was the closest to a one man team we've ever had. Okocha was a better player but Sam was a better manager who would have coped without losing JJ as much.Earlier that season Holden ran Newcastle ragged when we battered them 5-1 and the next home without Holden, Blackpool dominated Muamba and Mark Davies and we scraped a draw, the next home game Holden is back and scores the winner against Blackburn.

it's very early days but it could be argued that Morais is the most important midfield player we've had since Holden, he has transformed our season in a positive way no other midfielder since Holden has.

pointless debate but ive got time

re the blackpool game

if we had won that game 10-2, blackpool couldnt have complained

their keeper played out of his skin and both blackpool goals were headers from corners

holden and muamba together were fantastic

as has become apparent, any fcuking dick could build a team and get results with those two

many could achieve something with one of em

Fcuk me yeah, how did we not win that game never mind end up 2 - 0 down!

I can still remember me and my brother being a tad disgruntled at their keeper time wasting, much to the pleasure of those around us - not :)

Also the first game I remember thinking 'why  am I getting stared at for showing passion as a fan?  Top tier N stand!

He must've been dicking about with the middle two a lot at the time as davies and holden started v blackburn and muamba only came on when davies got sent off, then both muamba and holden score

I can see where this thread is going

Over to gonzo

Shouldn't of been playing that day. Semi final two week's later. Away game very unlikely get something in. Focus on cup. Rest best players. Cost us best played and ultimately more. Not hindsight said it at time and would do same if got to a semi again. Pick your battles

Of all the things to criticise Coyle for, playing Holden in that game is not one. We were still well placed in the league at that point with all to play for.

Gonzo is on holiday, so as he gets over his Veronica's hangover today, I'll sub with this:

And didn't we only lose 1-0 to a late goal? Probably wouldn't have lost if Evans hadn't assaulted him.

Correct. Berbatov IIRC. I'm a #shifan and didn't go, but every account of the game I heard had Holden bossing it until he was knobbled.

Holden & Muamba were unreal for the most part of that season. They were like two Kante's with the way they were covering so much ground. Incredible while it lasted.

They also massively covered up the lack of tactical nous that Coyle had. If only we'd sacked him after Swansea away.

always a chuckle
