Favourite Promotion Game

For me personally, I've been a fan and encountered us clinch promotion 6 times iin 43 years of watching the Whites.

Favourite for myself is a toss up between Wrexham and Reading, but I'll go for Reading as it had bloody everything...

Reading - it had everything as others have said and I went down with my old man and was just old enough to have a good drink with him (legitimately - I'd been pissing it up years by then ), he's not h

Blackburn in 77, just wish I was a bit older at the time so I could have enjoyed it more

Aye it has to be reading.

Preston 93 extremely close.

Who did we actually mathematically clinch promotion against in 1997? Might only have 4 if I wasn't there....

Missed Wrexham.Still bugs me to this day. Reading at Wembley was awesome with that night at Hull a close 2nd

Don't think we were promoted at Hull?

Great night, though!

I've got 4 in 25

All ace in their own ways

93 - started off slow and built up to a strong finish

95 - the play off semis plus final plus cup run

97 - steamrollered it

01 - around the time me and mates really started to rack up the away days

But does that mean we only had 2 promotions from 73 to 91?

I think so pal,77/78 and 87/88.

A lot centres around the number 7 , that's why we're going up this year.

Reading, to reach the land of milk and honey

Wrexham hands down. My first promotion after years in the doldrums

Aye fair point. The balance of power shifted that night though

Nob end at Cardiff was splendid, but Reading will take some beating.

Preston 1st time around.

Winning promotion in a home game, on the final day, is the dogs.

Wrexham a close second.

The play off victories were almost more of an occasion than about promotion per se, and 97 was inevitible by the time it rolled round . Oxford ? QPR ?

Missed Blackburn as my dad said I was too young to go.

Reading in the play offs was great how we came back.

Man City away, already promoted. Were we champions then?

I would go with that; Reading a close second

That night at Ewood. I have never seen away support like it.

Aye we won the league at city.

The cock suckers wouldn't let us have a party in their ground and gave us about 2k tickets.

That night at Ewood. I have never seen away support like it.

When i used to work a Thwaites , every now and then that night would come up in conversation.

Rovers fans all agreed that still is the largest away folowing to hit Ewood.

Man City did take a big following some years ago but no where near that nights numbers.

The Darwen end was packed out.

We got there at around 6pm.

No chance of getting in , managed to get in their end.

50% bolton. When Worthington drilled that ball in ( seemed to take ages before he shot ) the whole ground erupted.

Remember getting the train back to Bolton and the only place we could find for a drink was Space City.

But even with all those memories .

Reading at Wembley was the pinicle.

Reading. One of the best days of my life. Superb.

Hull for me as well

There's a lot of games i'll forget in my life but never the Hull one.

Wasn't at Ewood so can't comment, so Wrexham for all the reasons previously stated

1) Reading. As Miami says, it had the lot and it was the only time I got dust in my eyes at a football match

2) Preston - The scenes along Manny Road and up onto Bradshawgate that evening were BWFC fans at their absolute pissed up finest. Guys hanging from lamp posts, out of pub windows. Sheer joy.

5th November isn't the end of the season FFS?
