Winding Up Orders

Last I heard, it was court tomorrow

ST and Lies reported 3, including Heathcotes mob

KA said that was old news, leaving 2

Now, I can see HMRC is definitely a club issue, but the other is Sport Shield

If we assume KA can deal with HMRC debt - I'd have been happier if he had sorted that one already, tbf- that 'just' leaves SS and blumarble

If the court agrees to wind up SS, do we know what that means and also the impact on BWFC

  • The harsh reality is that name of the club has been dragged through the dirt in last few years. Massive debts, relegation, players not being paid etc etc.   Go back to when KA was first linked he w

  • Mounts had a word and told them the financial benefit of having a football stadium 300 yards away

  • Imagine that, a site that represents BWFC's hardcore support being pro-the bloke who has saved us from oblivion. Just fucking imagine that.

Up to 35 million could be 2 n 6

You've used Gareth Moores to support your position

If it were 2 n 6 they'd say 2 n 6 and I'd prefer to use Gareth Moore than Sluffy , Carlos or Frankie Spencer.

and attracted around 1.5 million visitors to Bolton every year, with 70 per cent of those on non football days.

Really? - I'm not having that at all

They are attractions not towns cities, events, concerts, shopping centres or football grounds and such like.

True and those destinations usually record the amount of people going in

But how do you measure visitors to a town or differentiate between visitors to the town and those who live there?

I reckon a lot of polls etc are like that.

Presumably, they take a snapshot of people then extrapolate based on the population.

Agree It's difficult to quantify I'd think the figures quoted must have something backing them up. Whatever the actual figure is it's clear the club adds plenty financially to the towns economy as was my earlier presumption.

I reckon a lot of people asked on say a Tuesday afternoon in certain parts of the town centre would say they were visitors just in case the person asking the questions was from the social!

ive seen it mentioned a number of times when teams get promoted to the premier league and how is has a knock on effect on the economy, especially if it’s a new place for a lot to visit or for others who haven’t been there ages

Just look at when we played hull away ????

It’s just the non match day contribution I don’t get. I’ll guess there will be some who will want to re visit a place maybe on a non match day to see what it’s like but I don’t that many

Really? - I'm not having that at all

I'd hope not

It's utter bollocks

At the time around 500k attended games, many of them, let's say 80% (STH) accounted for over 300k of the visits

I really don't know why I'm arguing with a bloke who cant see that a commercial director, salesman by any other name, wouldn't manipulate/exaggerate the numbers for his own ends

The Macron is hardly Old Trafford/ Camp Nou attracting thousand of foreigners for a look around

Hahaha.

Dear God I've never known anybody with such a blind prejudice than you.

Even though you might not like Carlos, Frankie or myself, at least use your brain and your common sense from time to time!

Does the article you posted seem at all feasible to be true?

As they say - don't believe everything you read in the newspaper!

1.5 million visitors the club brings in - yet a massive 70% don't come for the match???

Why are they here then and how did the club attract them if it wasn't to watch the game?

Is he talking about people staying in the hotel or something?

Even then he's talking about just over 1,000,000 people pitching up at the Macron - about 20,000 per week throughout the year - or about 4,000 people per day excluding Saturday (match day) and Sunday.

It makes no sense at all does it - particularly when you think the other half million people are pitching up for the say 30 home games we might have in a season - or about 17,000 ADDITIONAL people - VISITORS to the ground - which I assume does not include the ones who would have been there in any event such as home fans/season ticket holders.

The article is just utter rubbish mate.

Do yourself a favour and open your eyes and your mind.

The piece is bollocks but it was 2011

mounts making things up because it suits the fantasy world he exists in. what a shock.

Gareth Moores was a shit Des McBain, hilarious. It's as if Cliff Morris himself was posting. Bolton is booming!

I'm not saying the article is 100% accurate what I'm saying is that the club is a vital part of the community one that generates millions of pounds, either by bringing folk into the area or town, the club itself employs 100s of people be that full time or part time, people who spend that money in the economy and therefore over the years spend millions of Pounds in the local economy that money wouldn't be there if the football club did not exist. If you want to see an area blighted by having the football club extracted check out Manchester road Burnden

Edited by Mounts Kipper

To be fair mounts you can't really compare Manchester road with middlebrook.

Middlebrook would exist just fine without the football ground. There's plenty of retail parks that do.

Matchdays are probably a hinderence to most business on there anyway.

Without the Reebok stadium development as the catalyst there would be no middle brook, rather than a hindrance restaurants and shops benefit massively from the increase in trade matchday, the fact the stadium anchored the middlebrook development brought retailers in who turn over millions and employ many local people. Folk who argue othewise must believe the earth is flat.

I’d go with that,

All you have to do is go up on a none Home game and it’s busy and evening most restaurants are packed.

Macron is 10k to big for us

Someone needs to let the Trafford centre know they are missing a trick here.

Whack 12k footy fans next to it every other Saturday, that'll boost their trade :D
