To be fair, you can't blame this on COVID. It's a decade or more of underfunding. We used to have this problem long before COVID - that's just made it a lot worse. 

I agree with the second part though. If we want a world class health system - we all need to put in a bit more. And I also agree that a cross party agreement where everyone signs up to the funding plans seems like a good move! 👍

Tories wouldn’t support saving the NHS when they could sell it. If this isn’t/wasn’t their plan they are a lot more simple than I thought.

Sky News in conjunction with someone else worked to get this info, so they will be all over it. But it should be big news as large sums are paid to all the main parties and you have to question why.  More so when they are suspect companies with little or no footprint in the UK.

I posted about them in another thread ages ago, they appeared in Blackpool without warning last summer, big fuck off horrible masts in the middle of residential streets along with new wooden telegraph poles linking all the houses. Green boxes littered all over advertising 6GI, whatever the fuck that is.

Folk have been going mad about em. Turns out its all over country. Luckily none reached my area yet but it wont be long.

Turns out the dudes fitting it all were major donnor. A few different companies but all registered to this mob. Obviously to force it though without planning...

There’s new planning laws that apply to essential infrastructure, namely it can be provided without the usual permit / authorities planning consent . 
internet / communication masts can fall under that so long as they’ve not causing obstruction. 
there’s  loads of new wooden ones gone up all over Breightmet. 
Think the cabinet / metal masts still need permission, but heights and ease of that permission has changed. 
has to be good reason now, now just because residential groups complain / sign petitions etc .

It was always going to happen. Once 4g arrived, the size of the masts exceeded the height allowed by the relaxed rules, they changed the rules so they did comply. Same will happen with 5g as councils are refusing them. Appeal inspectors will told to be more relaxed about them

They are supposed to demonstrate that they've considered other sites but just saying landowner won't let them. Also encourage sharing equipment with other providers but they won't citing technical issues. No one knows whether these are true but councils just accept it

Similarly can't object on health grounds as along as they've ticked a box on the application form saying it complies, then it is accepted that it does. That said peopled complain on health grounds if its near the home but don't seem arsed if it's near their work

It’s not about paying in more Kent, we’re already the highest taxed we’ve been in many decades, it’s about getting more from what we do pay in. I agree it’s not just Covid though it’s much deeper than that and needs a long term view taking so a joint committee would be the answer for me too.
