Yeah I know Unison have (which isn't a surprise as they tend to represent a lot of workers who aren't from line - back office staff etc).

What I don't get is what happens to the pay deal if only a minority of the unions sign up to it? Surely they can't pay some on the new deal and some on the old. Or does it all get put of hold until everyone is in agreement?

Or could the RCN potentially good out for more and everyone ultimately end up benefitting from it?

I genuinely think that there should be a different pay spine for front line and non front line.

I doubt the average man in the street realises that this pay award relates to everyone on an NHS contract - whether they are a theatre nurse doing open heart surgery - or someone serving over priced hamburgers in the hospital restaurant.

It also doesn't apply to nurses working in GP land - who get a MASSIVELY shitty stick in account that they are around by a private practice and not by the NHS directly. The whole thing is a shit show tbh!

Junior doctors seem to get raw deal, apparently £14 per hour.

They've been massively shafted over the last 15 years. I think their real terms pay is something like 30% down on what it would hav been over the same period if their pay had kept pace with inflation.

1st year of a junior doctor is indeed £14ph. I day junior but they are a fully qualified doctor, it is a stupid title.

My lad had his appendix removed in the middle of the night on a weekend by a so called junior doctor, their pay is ridiculous.

Yeah that title doesn't help. Makes it sound like you're being seen by someone on work experience!

A junior doctor pointed out how much an MPs pay had increased in the same period  that his had declined.

Was fucking ridiculous.

Does it mean I have to wait for my pay rise until the RCN have finished twatting about?

I would think so , non union staff get the same pay rise is most businesses as it is just easier to manage

That was both fascinating and frightening in equal measure! Loved the anecdote about Liz Truss 😆

Yet another Brexit bullshitter letting the side down. Amazing how so many people believed the bollocks these people spouted.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/apr/17/jim-ratcliffe-ineos-electric-grenadier-austria

The decision means that the UK has missed out on building a second Ineos vehicle, after Ratcliffe, a vocal Brexit backer who is resident in Monaco for tax purposes, chose a French factory for the original Grenadier.

Ineos bought a plant in Hambach, eastern France, to make the Grenadier, to the disappointment of people in Bridgend, south Wales, where the company had initially planned to step in to replace Ford, which closed an engine plant there. On announcing the Bridgend deal Ineos had said it wanted to “retain the Britishness”.

You just aren't giving it enough time. Just wait until we open all these new Freeport tax havens everywhere - we'll be coining it in. Singapore Upon Stockport.

Its allegedly over half their net profits for 2022,so it'll sting a little bit I'd have thought. Imagine having to pay all that out, based on a totally unfounded lie. Presumably a few execs will be losing their jobs on the back of it

It's funny how she's ran rings around the fat oaf (Trump, not Bolty) for years.

This will be pleasing for Bolty and co.

It backs up his assertion that you cannot simply take control of the narrative and expect no consequences.

Simply shouting loud and demanding to be heard even though you know you’re lying isn’t the “free speech” we all want.

screechy (w)anchors just blowing off any old shit need to be wound in.

Did you hear that on Fox News by any chance?

As it should

Anyone telling blatant lies to millions of pig thick, impressionable, gun-toting rednecks deserves to pay the price.
