It is the Government's fault. It is that simple.

They have eroded virtually every area of public service and lots is now broken.

We spend millions on a scheme to deport those that fail , but the majority who get accepted are sat waiting for best part of two years because the system is fucked up.

Matt Hancock has just said to the covid enquiry that brexit took away our preparedness for the pandemic as resources had been diverted.

#brexit benefit

last year, 20k afghans arrived - ALL of them will be approved to stay

so, get them processed and working and paying tax

Aye

The right to work policy is a huge drain on our economy. Get them working. Deterrent my arse. How many are just working illegally that could be earning and paying tax through a legal route. Not to mention the weekly costs for basic needs.

If their case is then rejected then they can still be deported after having contributed something . Saving money by letting them work could free up more money to combat people smugglers and clear the backlog.

I would make working whilst waiting for a decision compulsory. Whatever you are fleeing from being able to work, earn money and have some dignity.

Indeed it is accelerating. I wonder if doctors and nurses are on strike over pay anywhere else in the EU or is that another brexit benefit ?

Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain,  Portugal are just some of the countries where they have been striking.

Maybe we just don't pay doctors enough across the board?

I have to say I was pretty shocked when I saw the average pay of a Jr Dr and GPs.

Its been going on for years my brother in law passed out of Uni 20 years back and was offered 6k to start after doing a medical degree, I called it bollocks to the missus and then read similar case where a couple same age who qualified ended up buying a window clean business after qualifying, any how B.I.L. stuck with it he is now assistant prof of radiology in Utah... sadly the U.K. missed out on his expertise after training him.

One of my childhood friend became a doctor and buggered off to Australia. My other mate who is a GP just handed his notice in at the practice he's run and doing locom work as it pays better without the management hassle.

The fact that he earns a little more than a ticket tout like me shows how badly we pay people to keep us alive.

On this we can agree.

Well, I guess that's what happens we we let the market run. I mean, I take nothing from the state, I only contribute in terms of my business and employing people.

In fact fuck the Labour AGM this evening - where's Truss when you need her!

EDIT: I mean in terms of earned income, obviously I take a lot from it.

I think we probably agree on more than you think.

To be fair it’s probably better striking in the sun than on plodder lane.

I mean - lets not get crazy here he lives in a massive house and drives a bloody lovely car.

But, the issue is how much do we value our care providers - what makes it worth the study?

I know people don't go into medicine to earn money but to be rewarded for the job they do. I also understand that if you make cash under your own steam, then fair enough. But pure capitalism, just leting the market decide does not 'raise us all up' it forgets the pathways to get there and it also forgets that to have a functioninity society we need jobs that don't just 'earn money' but  contribute to society - both in science and arts.

Many me laugh when you see the GB news lot only going on about those in society who are free from the state and are employers - yes we ned that but we also need as a country to funded science and culture - so they are do what they need to.

all i know is my mrs place cant fill partner roles and locums hold all the cards

The return to the EU has already started imo.

The issue for me is we won't ever get the preferential terms we had before Brexit so this whole folly has done nothing but divide and damage the UK.

Austerity caused Brexit and a whole lot more as we are hearing from the Covid enquiry.

Spot on - by the time my kids are my age we'll be fighting for what we already had and this will be a PHD paper

I cant claim the credit for this, but if its worth spending 170k to fuck somebody off who has never paid in, the casinos x 4 fancy a go

Where do we get our 680k

We will go tomorrow

But it's a deterrent. Stick em all in a shitty hotel, don't let them work and that will stop other people from their country even thinking about making the journey.

Wait a minute ...

Yep, the wife & I will gladly accept a third of a mill to emigrate.

Can we just ease off on all the Brexit benefits please, I can barely keep count.

And you are getting brave I see. Engaging twice within a short period of time. Well, well, I feel flattered. I posted that knowing full well who would be most irked by it and here you are.

There needs to be a deterrent to illegal  immigration. Definition - people arriving through people smuggling methods who are simply economic migrants with no justification to be accepted by the UK (i.e. not escaping war, persecution or whatever). Rwanda may not be the best but what else has been put on the table? Australia used gunboats and turned the boats back. Not going to happen there is it? ECB type capitulation to a woke outcry would soon put an end to that even being considered.

Not really wanting to stoop to your level with insults relating to intellect but are you too fucking thick to see that the UK is not and will not ever be equipped to cope with burgeoning population levels fuelled by legions of encouraged economic migrants due to our impotence at dealing with it?

Just throw the doors open would suit you would it? What do you think the effect would be on services for your children and grandchildren? How do you think their job opportunities would be affected?
