Grant Shapps just looks like a divorcee who cries himself to sleep every night with a picture of his ex wife on the pillow.

The Downing Street barrel scraping goes on

Is he calling himself Grant today?

For one thing, no fucker stays in post long enough to sort anything out

During the course of the last twelve months, Grant Schapps has been Home Secretary, Transport Secretary, Business Secretary, Energy Secretary, and now Defence Secretary

Eventually, someone will find him a job he can do.

I’ve been moved to a temporary Portacabin for the year because of this aero concrete stuff. Kids have lost their playground.

33 9 year olds in one tiny room with no thought of sound absorption in the walls. It’s been awful so far but fair play to the builders getting it up in 6 weeks. We all knew back in May, I’ve no idea why English schools are only acting now.

Not sure who to blame. Let’s start with the immigrants …

Canon Slade is one of the schools affected.

Fifth richest nation on earth and its schools are made of cornflakes.

Still, we can have every confidence in Grant Shapps to sort it when they make him Ed Sec in a few weeks

Their initial reaction to every single issue - no matter how big or small - seems to be "how do we deny it's anything to do with us until it falls out of the news cycle?"

30% of school buildings have gone beyond their planned .ife

Tories scrapped labours school building plan in 2010 and replaced it with, with, erm,

Building Schools for the Future was something Labour introduced and whilst it was probably too ambitious, at least it was a plan that had merit and generated a lot of jobs and some very good new schools.

As you say, the Tories scrapped it and reduced school budgets.

folk will vote for more of that.

The analysis by the ONS claiming the economy had failed to recover to its pre-pandemic state in 2021 has proved to be wrong

Here was an article about when Gove (the odious twat) announced the scrapping of the school building plan. Just another thing to add to the list after hospitals, prisons, police, transport, water and nearly every public service which is worse now.

There is a quote from Gove in there saying “there is little evidence new school buildings will improve standards”. 🤔

Always the kids that get mentioned

Does that mean teachers, caretakers, admin staff etc are fair game?
