One man’s right wing dictatorship is another man’s pseudo-communist heaven.

Far right.

centre right has centre in it.

But the Mon in Holland is far right. He wants to ban a religion he doesn’t like.

It may be that the Dutch Muslim population will accept that and idyllic life follows for the whole country.

My spidey senses tell me otherwise.

It's going well...

Im familiar with the trains running on time trope, it was used in the manner of the myth itself.

Sublety isn’t everyone’s strong point 😎

You're getting him mixed up with Mussolini there, Spider. Easy mistake to make, I suppose. Just for clarity, Hitler was the one with the dodgy moustache and comb over combo. Mussolini was the one with the baldy head and jutting jawline.

And, before anyone dives in, Benito didn't actually improve the performance of Italian railways. It's an oft-quoted urban myth. 👍

I thought it was a joke about the trains that went to concentration camps

The top 3 groups of immigrants, presided over by Sunak, let us not forget

Students - massive contributor to finances

Care sector workers - lets fuck them off, but net contributors anyway

Refugees from Ukraine and HK - anybody want to fuck em off?

Next 'highly skilled workers'

That's about it but lets blame it on the folk in boats

Worst thing of all

Its not their fault

Fucking useless

Are the Hong Kong lot considered refugees?

Well I guess by the definition of the word yes but from my experience they aren't seeking asylum or living in hotels etc etc

There's loads turned up on South Manchester and Cheshire, and you do notice them when out and about particularly at the supermarket or down the park / out walking

But they're all buying up properly and coming over here to move into homes they've already bought

Plenty are buying without viewing, friend of mine sold their house to someone was in HK, they sent a mate round to view it and an hour later paid asking price

They certainly aren't asking to be put up by us

Seems that you and Wahid would prefer the Merkel strategy? Throw the doors open?

It is impossible to legislate for fucking stupidity. Good luck to those who will continue your bloodline. They will surely need it.

At least your bloodline will keep the kangaroos safe

25% of student visas are granted to dependents, with some students arriving not just with their parents but their grandparents, and 48% of non-EU work visas are granted to dependents

Migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, in particular, are quite significantly more likely to be claiming disability benefit and be unemployed as well

There are huge numbers of people emigrating to this country who are economically inactive

Graph for you all! 😁

We have a specific scheme with HK so they can apply for a visa and get entry, They are including in the big number, as you say they are not seeking asylum, they are allowed to come here and live as we used to 'own' HK.

There is a scheme for folk from Ukraine too.

It’s almost like our colonial past is working against us at times.

Which is weird, because loads of blokes with Union Jack shirts just love getting all dewy eyed and singing songs about how Britain will never never never be slaves.

A slight tangent, but apparently the Chinese never really expected us to give Hong Kong back in 1997 and were shocked we actually did

On the student bit are you sure ?

https://www.hr.admin.cam.ac.uk/hr-services/visas-immigration/working-uk/dependant-visas#:~:text=Dependant visa holders will have,No recourse to public funds.

This says it is partner and kids only and there is no recourse to public funds ? The student has to be sponsored and show they are funded for the period of their stay. Sure when Suella kicked off about this and said it was people pretending to be gay and students it was shown that only 2% claimed to be gay and the vast majority of students go back home after course is over.

I agree there is an issue but not sure it is students , from my time at Uni, overseas students pay more to study here and the  Universities need to attract more of them as their funding has been reduced.

There is separate issue that places of study were being set up just to claim people were study but think in overall scheme of things those numbers are small and action is being taken so places have to authorised to count as students

I am no expert in this but the claim about students does not seem right (happy to be corrected) especially when linked to the benefit claim. Certainly offering no recourse to public funds seems a pretty sensible approach to anyone coming here.
