See kids walking to school in central Blackpool eating a bag of crisps for their breakfast.

It's a shit state of affairs things like this need to happen but it's ace that it does for the kids and the kids alone.

Nobody is too skint for a bag of porridge or loaf of bread.

My sister is a primary school teacher in Bolton. She's bought a few of her kids winter coats as they just don't have them.

It's difficult to teach them when they have no breakfast or a chocolate bar.

It's sad that the state has to step in, but it always had, breakfast for kids is a given.

When my mum and dad split up we were on our uppers for quite a while.  The one thing mum insisted on in the morning was a cup of tea and Weetabix or toast. My mates used to get dropped off at Rivi lower school mega early so always called for me as I lived round the corner. I was never ready and one lad always waited for me. We weren't best mates by a long shot but he knew after a couple of minutes he would be let in for a brew and toast. She wouldn't let him go hungry just because his own mum wasn't looking after him.

You're going to get a lot of 'we shouldn't be paying for poor parenting' coming from this, but this is a generational issue, but kids in 2025 should have food in their bellies every morning.

Mind you, if mine dont eat their kefir yogurt, honey and nuts again and want another 5 quid a day on pop crisps and an begal on ParentPay then there will be no hummus this weekend!

Me and Mark Wharmby used to have a warm can of Heritage Bitter on our way to school and it never did us any harm!

Wharmby makes Bolty look left wing

Well, what an insult. You won't be getting a top class steak the next time you come to Perth you fucking ingrate. You can carry on with Pot Noodles 😉

Fair play to the toy maker. It’s a start! Now to get a grip of those parents who are sending their kids to school without a meal in them.

Its one thing to throw the money at the problem but its another to get value for money.

We have two big white elephant aircraft carriers, our allies can't use them on joint exercises because they don't have angled fight decks and catapult launching.  Only suited for F35s and we can't afford many of those, we really needed lots of medium tech aircraft like F18 Hornets.

They're just big oversized heli platforms and sitting targets, especially as we don't have the ships to make up a properly defended carrier group.

Are we going to spend the money on buying more US systems like Trident?

Honestly my daughter thinks I'm a right c*nt for making her make sandwiches 3 x days per week, so she can 'splurge' on Monday's and Friday's

On a friday morning, she'll get a sausage barm, or a croissant at school, then a 'meal deal' and it's £7.00 for those 2 things.

We're not hard up, but there's absolutely no chance she's doing that every day. I did find out thought that there's a lad who plays on the footy team with her and she often buys him dinner on a Tuesday when they have a game that afternoon, to make sure he eats as otherwise, he goes without. Was very hard to be mad at her for that.

But I managed..
